Sadly, it looks like his career will be over.

The guy is a warrior, but just can't stay healthy. Under rated player who was the leader of the Bears defense. This is a HUGE loss for the Bears defense. The defense doesn't play the same when he is not back there.

He was probably the best player out there for the Bears on sunday - he had an interception & fumble recovery and was all over the field.

He broke down after the game in front of the media he knows this is probably it for his career.

"We're holding out a little hope, but right now it doesn't look too good," Brown said. "It's a sprained knee right now, but it doesn't look too good. It's a shame. It hurts my feelings really bad."

"Then Brown's emotions got the best of him. Teammate Charles Tillman waved the television cameras away so Brown could have his peace."

Man... This guy just cannot catch a break. Wasn't he out for the whole season last year? And 2 seasons before that one as well?

Brown was one of the 5 best safeties in the game and was clearly the heart of the Bears defense.

Stats shamelessly stolen from WMVP 1000 AM in Chicago:
When Brown starts, the opposing QB rating vs. the Bears is 17.3 points worse than when he doesn't over the last 4 years. Average rushing yards per carry on 1st down when Brown plays: 2.9, when he doesn't: 3.8. Not sure of the season breakdown on that last one, sounds pretty short-term.

That's an impact player, folks, the kind of guy who cannot be replaced. He never gets the notoriety outside of Chicago, unfortunately.

I remember him ending several games on INTs... the guy was money, but always an IR canidate.

I hope he somehow makes it back, he'd still make a great safety for some team (get released, come to Oakland, take Schweigert's job. Hell we'll give you his leg.)

Icness, do you see Brown pursuing a career as a coach? He is smart, a great motivator, and an even better leader.

I could definitely see him moving up the ranks and eventually being a DC or even a Head coach in the NFL if he decides to pursue it.

Tough break. One of the most underrated secondary men in the league.

He got blatantly close lined by the FB in the backfield while blowing up a running play and it wasn't called.
