Official Week 2 Thread (Primetime)

Sunday Night Game

Image @ Image

Possible preview of the AFC Championship? A lot of people think so (I don't). Either way, this game looks hell of a lot better than the Monday Night game. A lot of backstory going into it as well (Re-match of the Divisional game, Patriots' cheating and possible reprecussions, Randy Moss' resurgence... Sure seems like Tom Brady's Bastard child story faded quite fast...)

Overall, I like the Patriots in this one. Randy Moss is too good, and they're going to need at least 2 (and sometimes 3) guys to defend him (especially considering Jammer will be on him). Maybe I'm putting too much thought into it, but I don't think they'll be able to blitz with Merriman as often as they'd like. And even with Moss covered up, they've still got Welker and Stallworth. I've got to mention it again, but that offense is just stacked. And this goes without mentioning Maroney, Brady, Brady, Watson and the O-Line (Mankins, you're my second favorite white offensive linemen. And don't take it as a bad thing... Big white offensive Linemen are my favorite type of players)

I think San Diego's Offense will be able to do a good job against the Patriots' D, but not the type of success that the Pats' O will

Monday Night Game

Honestly... who picks these Monday Night Games. Granted, Week 1's MNFs finished well, but both sucked for a majority of the game. (Cincy-Baltimore game was marred by mistakes, sloppiness and carelessness, and the 49ers-Cards game had the right presentation... to make me fall asleep... That and the game seemed sloppy whenever I managed to pay attention).

This looks like it will be dominated by Philadelphia... but who knows. That's what I said about week one of Philadelphia versus Green Bay. I read from vaff (I think it was vaff) and Icness that Shawn Andrews is paying through injury. If that's the case, I could see this game being closer than I thought it would be.

At least the Reno Mahe signing means that they won't make as much mistakes as they did on the returns last week.

Cut and paste of what I posted in the team forum's game thread:

Keys to the Game: With the camera man sidelined indefinitely, the offensive line is once again going to be the focal point to a successful game on offense. Last week the line looked downright dominant against a strong Jets

We need to establish the run to beat Philly and play the time in our favor. It will be a blowout if our offense doesn't help out our D. Eventually McNabb will start feasting on a tired defense with the speed he has on offense. Luckily, I think we have a good chance of running against Philly. They have to inexperienced linebackers along with an undersized D-line. There also without Lito Sheppard so we will see a lot less 8 men in the box.

I won't be sad if we lose. I'll be incredibly excited if we win.

The Eagles special teams unit looked embarrassingly bad last week. (Which I guess isn

i just read that antonio gates is doubtful and another place saying he'll likely play.

if he's not on top of his game i cant see the chargers staying in the game much less winning.

I doubt he sits, he's a gamer, and I'm sure he's seeking some payback.

Seymour is out for 4 more weeks after this one. Good opportunity for Jarvis Green he made the best of it last week against the Jets.

Norv Turner works as a mercenary on the side and locks his friends in a closet with lethal booby traps when he gets mad?

By the sounds of that bit by Andrea Kramer, it sure sounds like it.
