NFC South the worst division in the league?
New Orleans <- flop so far this season
Tampa Bay <- mediocre
Carolina <- had high hopes after beating the rams but got blown out by the texans
Atlanta <- no comment
i think there is no question that NFC South is the worst division in the league. it used to NFC West but that era is over.
plus, who do you see winning the NFC South?
Carolina?
New Orleans?
or Tampa Bay? (long shot)

If you say so, The Saint's are off to an extremely rocky start, but if you lump the NFC west and NFC south together, there are only 2 teams that can make serious noise IMO, and neither are in the west.
The North isn't so great either, the Bears are the only real contenders IMO....

the South is going to be ugly. i think divisional record is going to play a major part in who is going to make the playoffs. i wouldn't be surprised to see 3 teams in the South with 8-8 records vying for a playoff spot.
Panthers have been overrated for years.
Saints look like a fluke.
Falcons of course had some personnel problems.
Bucs have age issues and coaching issues.

I don't see why after such a bad start for all NFC South teams, Atlanta doesn't even get mentioned as a possible winner. I'm not so sure we don't have the best defense (which isn't saying much). Our offense is still a work in progress, but we have some very talented players on that side of the ball. Like Harry said, an 8-8 record may win you the NFC South.

Three of the 7 worst teams in the league are in the AFC East. No other division has more than 2 teams in the bottom 10.
I'm still giving the Saints somewhat of a pass thus far. They played in Indy in a situation where nobody was going to beat them, then at Tampa, which is a pretty solid team that matches up well against them.

The AFC East will have one playoff team, there's no chance of more. The NFC South could have two, Carolina and NO, assuming NO gets on track. Obviously NE hammers any team in the NFC South (or the NFC in general... or the NFL in general), which I guess can be a positive for the AFC East.
Overall depth and playoff chances, the AFC East is the worst.

I'm not really arguing for them, but if you're going to say Carolina, New Orleans and Tampa you should include Atlanta. New Orleans has looked a lot worse than we have and they don't even look better on paper.

Pass that sh** over here
Offensively you guys are better, again, not saying much, but I think we have a bigger edge defensively. Tell me where I'm wrong. I've never really seen you participate in any real football discussion, just little one liners like that. I said the Saints would have a hard time winning HFA with 8 or 9 wins and you replied in the same manner. I'm not so sure they'll get 8 or 9 now.

I don't think the gap defensively is nearly as big as the gap offensively..... not even close.
I mean, we can sit here and use only these two games as an indicator, but we just aren't going to be this bad all season.

We'll see. I never predicted a NFC South championship for the Falcons, but after the first two games I think you can at least call it a possibility. No team has looked good.
Sean Payton is looking a lot like Jim Mora Jr. Rookie coach surprises the league, makes the playoffs, makes the NFCCG, gets clubbed, has a disappointing sophomore season. Except Mora had a better rookie season and started his sophomore season 6-2.

Anythings possible.
Payton has looked horrible, I don't know what happened to the creative play calling.
