Some of these guys are locks, others are arguable, but theyve all played for multiple teams. Not looking at current players only retired ones.



Curtis Martin - Jet or Patriot? **Eligible 2011 class
I guess he spent less time with the patriots than i thought. His only SB appearance was with New England though.
4th on all time rushing list with 14,101 YDS, 90 rushing TDs, 3329 receiving YDS, 10 receiving TDs

Marshall Faulk - Ram or Colt? **Eligible 2011 class
Split more evenly at 7/5 but the Super Bowls with the Rams likely tips it in that direction.
9th on all time rushing list with 12,279 YDs, 100 TDs, 6875 receiving YDS, 36 Receiving TDs

Rod Woodson - Steeler or Raven **Eligible 2009 Class
Spent alot more time in Pittsburgh, but he got the ring as a key part of one of the best defenses ever with the Ravens.
3rd all time on INTs list with 71

Kevin Greene - Ram, Steeler, Panther? Already eligible (2005)
He spent 8 years with the rams and 3 each with the Steelers and Panthers. I guess based on years maybe the rams? The problem here is team success was relatively the same. He lost in 5 Conference Championship games, 2 with the Rams, 1 each with the Steelers, Panthers, and 49ers. He also lost in a SB with the steelers.
3rd all time on the Sacks list with 160


Charles Haley - 49er or Cowboy? Already eligble
#20 on the all time sacks list with 100.5
The only player to win 5 SuperBowl Rings AND he was a Starter in each.

Cris Carter(**'08), Bruce Smith (**'09), Jerry Rice (**'10) are all obvious so i didnt bother listing them.
Deion also seems obvious to me as a Cowboy.

Team? The football hall isn't like baseball: they're not enshrined with a team logo on their bust.

Also, out of all the guys you listed, only one would be a theoretically tough choice: Charles Haley.

And Deion as a Cowboy? WTF?

It kinda makes this past years HOF class even more remarkable: every guy who got in played for only one team, except Thurman Thomas who regrettably spent his final year in Miami. You're not gonna see that again.

Also cool about this past class--only Michael Irvin ever won a Super Bowl. Roger Wehrli and Charlie Sanders never won a playoff game.

If they had to pick (and BBJ is right, they don't) I would guess:
Woodson is a Steeler. He just looked great in those black unis.
Faulk as a Ram
Haley as a 49er
Greene (who should be in very soon!) as a Ram, even though his best years were in PIT
Deion as a Falcon. He almost literally saved the franchise
Martin can go in wearing Bill Parcells as a jersey

Deion should definitely go in as a Falcon. I don't see how he "saved the franchise" though.

He was behind the drive to change the colors, which moved them from near the bottom to near the top in merchandise sales. Putting a marketable face on that change was huge.

He sold tickets. Lots of tickets. Nearly 10000 per week more than the seasons before and after he left.

That team was closer than most people think to leaving ATL. It never got beyond the stages it did in no small part because Deion made Atlanta more viable financially with his impact on revenue streams.

He helped no doubt, but the Falcons were never leaving Atlanta. That 98 season and Michael Vick did a whole lot more for the franchise than Deion ever did.

I agree, but would you put him in ahead of Kevin Greene? Or Charles Haley? Man I wish I could sit in on those HOF panel discussions...

I'm not sure about hall of fame, but I would probably take Derrick Thomas over Kevin Greene, and I'm a pretty big fan of his. Charles Haley is another story though.

I think id put him ahead of Greene.

From the moment he entered the league he was a beast. Greene took 4 years to get there.
I mean DT 20 sacks at age 23. Just sick.

As for Haley, I guess not but its still tough. (For some reason Haley hasnt even made the list of 15 finalists in any year yet).

The first thing that comes to mind when I think of Deion Sanders is the Cowboys.

I know the players don't "go in" representing a certain team, but in the team displays, they list all the HOFers for that team and players are only listed once. In that case, I guess, they are associated with one team.

edit-at least thats the way it was when I was there last. That was about 8 years ago though.

It's nothing personal about those players, just that all non-skill positions are woefully underrepresented.
