I think he is. The Titans are not flooded with elite talent and still look like a good and at times great football team. His teams are always competitive. Somehow his name never gets mentioned amongst the greats in the league but I think it should.

i disagree with your statement though normally he gets respect and i think he's a great coach and overachieves with teams.

I really think Jeff Fisher is the best coach in football at making something out of nothing (other than his QB).

I think Jeff Fischer is better than Tony Dungy. For me its:

1. Jeff Fischer
2. Mike Shanahan
3. Bill Belichick
4. Mike Holmgren
5. Andy Reid

Please explain how exactly Fischer is better than Belichick...without using some lame ad hominem attack involving camera use. Don't get me wrong: Fischer's Top 3 in my list, but better than Belichick?

I think hes a good coach. I just don't know how good he can be without Brady. We've seen Fischer keep raw, inexperienced teams competitive and winning. I'm not sure if BB can do the same.

I think Fischer would have multiple SuperBowls if he had Brady. But I'll probably get bashed for saying this. I fully expect it

He's missing a Super Bowl win from is resume, but that's it. Nobody squeezes more juice out of lousy oranges than Jeff Fisher, and he does it in a novel way for modern coaches: he fits his system to the talent he has, not vice-versa. I'd put him below Belichick and Billick, maybe Dungy and that's the list.

Now you're getting all chicken-egg on the argument; is Brady (therefore Belichick) good because he's inherently more talented than other QBs or is Brady good because Belichick maximizes his potential while minimizing his deficiencies? I'd say it's a bit of both.

Still, Brady only plays on one side of the ball; the Pats have been a defensive powerhouse as well with usually very little talent or very questionable talent. (BB's forte is defense.)

A few teams would have multiple SBs if they had Brady, no reason to bash that statement.

Always nice to know that Jeff Fisher has the respect of anonymous posters on Football Message Boards.

As a strategist, I would not rank Fisher as highly as some of you. I view him as quite average actually. However, for his ability to bring out the best in all the players, and his ability to mentor and help grow younger talent, and his ability to locate undervalued talent, I would not trade Jeff Fisher for any coach in the league.

He's a lot like Arsene Wenger in a lot of ways in the EPL...

And as for Lakeshow: I don't know about that. Chow's playcalling has been rather conservative and not making best uses of Vince's talents....

you know as well as i do, without the greatness of norm chow, vince young would be washed up and injured already.

its similar to how hes brought up the heisman quarterbacks here at SC. with the great Carson Palmer and leinart, chow brought them along slowly, and placed them into winning situations. and residing in the pocket more for vince will give him the longevity.

and their winning. so yeah, the head coach is a great SC guy. but let us not forget the SC offensive coordinator.

i want to hear your opinions on why billick is better than fischer. i think billick is partly a product of having an amazing front office and he's underachieved with a couple teams discounting his superbowl win of course.

the only one id clearly put ahead of him is bellichick and probably dungy and if cowher was still coaching him. then fischer is coupled with the likes of andy reid, billick, shannahan and maybe holmgrem (but thats debatable)
