Players having breakout seasons

Post#1 » by Wizards2Lottery » Sun Sep 30, 2007 2:06 pm

For the Skins its Rocky McIntosh and Anthony Montgomery.

McIntosh has 25 tackles, 2 sacks and 1 FF so far. So far, hes been the best play making outside linebacker in the NFC and should make the Pro Bowl if he keeps it up.

Montgomery was a fifth round pick last year and was an underachieving DT in college. Extremely atheletic for a 6'6 320 pound guy whos finally using it to his advantage. He gets a lot of push in the middle and a big reason why the Redskins are finally getting to the QB and doing a good job against the run.

Using hindsight, I wish you guys would of traded us McIntosh and that 6th pick for Briggs. Really could use an OLB and extremely good Safety right about now.

Yeah that trade would have sucked balls for us. We would have traded McIntosh and Landry for Briggs and Alan Branch. Not only that but Snyder was ready to give Briggs a 20 million bonus :banghead: . Redskins front office

Thank god for Gregg Williams.

how about Atari Bigby, Saftey from the Green Bay Packers. Last year he was a rookie and did not really play much at all. This year he was made a starter and through the first 3 games he already has 24 tackles. I think that could be considered break out so far.

but last year he put up solid numbers(61 catches, 884 yards, 6 touchdowns) and this year he was expected to put up elite numbers. I think last year was his breakout season and this season is not a break out season but rather showing that last year was not a fluke.

If you mean Braylon, I agree 100%. he's definitely justifying his high draft pick.

1st, nice to see you on a football Sunday

and Braylon Edwards finally gets it, and he is indeed breaking out. That route he torched McAllister on today was beautiful.

Anyone that saw Braylon play last year versus how he's playing now would know without a doubt that it's like night and day. He was okay last year but he's a beast now.

Yup. I have had him the last 2 years in fantasy and even though I'm a Ravens fan; I like him.

Some guys I've noticed besides the aforementioned:

Shaun McDonald, great toughness and hands
Jeremy Trueblood, quickly becoming a dominant run blocker

Leon Williams of the Browns--he's freaking everywhere on D, outstanding coverage on Heap today, made 4 solo tackles on 3rd down and 3 prevented a 1st down. He was the one guy who looked impressive in the opener too

Patrick Crayton looks good
Freddie Keaho is lucky but good
Darnell Dockett is quietly playing a huge role on a quietly fierce-hitting Cards D

Jerricho Cotchery, Nick Mangold.

I can only imagine if Cotch had a REAL Quarterback. Penny has heart but we arent going anywhere with dinks and dunks.

The Clemens era couldnt come soon enough.
