When will Devin Hester break the return TD record?

Post#1 » by CBS7 » Sun Sep 30, 2007 11:46 pm

One of the oh so very few bright spots for the Bears this season. He's got 2 already this year to add to the 6 he had last year. The record is 13, he's got 8.

Dude is unreal, the only player ever that you can make him a GOAT candidate at what he does in just week 4 of his second year

I give the blockers credit as well, but at times it's like Hester does it on his own, and he continues to amaze me.

Edit: By the way he breaks the record within two years

He'll have it in 2-3 years. Teams will eventually just stop kicking to him all together so maybe longer.

The kickoff return record is 6, he has 3, the punt return record is 10, he has 4.

Honestly, tonights was my favorite. I have some uncanny ability to turn to the bears game and see him standing there and he takes it to the house almost every time.

he has the skills to break it early next season but chances are teams are going to stop kicking to him so i would say about 3 years.

...yet Ron Turner refuses to use him on offense. Thank the lord for brilliant coaching.

Some of his returns are simply unbelievable. He did fumble twice yesterday and nearly lost his job early last year for the same reason, so if that keeps up it will be hard to justify the risk. But he sure can make some amazing moves, and he makes cuts off blockers better than anyone. Deion Sanders used to talk about how important confidence is to a return man, and Hester oozes confidence.

I think he'll get the record in 3 years, if he cures the fumblitis.

Maybe he should beat women. It seemed to cure Ahman Greens fumbilitis. :nonono:

As for the Record Dante Hall will probably break it, then hester would break halls record. With His latest punt return TD he has 12 (6 of each). Hester is at 7 (Unless youre counting his FG return i guess which makes it 8)

I like the fact that some teams like the Cowboys have held him in check. It gives the rest of the league hope that they can do it too, which most of them can't.

Anyways, if he plays a full length career and doesn't get injured much, how many TDs do you think he'll finish with?

There's a possibility that Devin Hester could transition to the WR position a la Steve Smith and thus not return kicks anymore.

Though Cliff Levingston doesn't expect that to happen under our current pathetic offensive coordinator.

That might actually be true, as an OC Norv is pretty damn good. As a Head Coach, hes the exact opposite.
