What could miami get for jason taylor ???

With miami year going down the drain what can the dolphins get for Jason taylor and ricky willaims??? ---- I think on a condentor jason taylor could put there defence over the edge. Send me some offers !!!

Awesome! We have plenty of Dolphins fans here, who may or may not rip you to shreds, considering the Dolphins' draft history over the past couple of years that you have presided over personnel decisions.

As for your question about what you could get for Jason Taylor and Ricky Williams,
Ricky Williams? Nothing. Nada. Nope. Other GMs might think you might be taking a hit of Ricky's bong if you propose even a 7th rounder for Ricky Williams.

Jason Taylor? Not as much as you would think. He's a 10-year pro, who will soon hit the downside of his career, and will retire in maybe 2-3 years when he's 35-36. As well, there would be a considerable cap hit, I believe (and you should probably know, Randy), considering he has restructured his contract several times over the course of the 6-year contract. I'd be surprised if you could get more than a late Day-1 pick for him.

Anyway, hope you succeed with this Randy. And even if you get the last pick in the draft for Ricky Williams, it would be quite a considerable victory for you.

They should get him the fountain of youth. (Or just Barry Bonds' "clear", though im not sure theyd be able to make a helmet big enough for him after that.)

Hes already on the downside of his career. Hes been average so far and got owned by an undrafted rookie RT against the Redskins.

Ricky Williams draws no water.

As for Taylor, I think J.Kim was being optimistic saying a day 1 pick - I'd likely give a 5th, maybe 4th him, personally. And thats the Raiders 4th/5th.

He does only have a couple of years left in the league, and he's certainly not the special player he used to be. He's a rotational player now, which can still be of value to certain teams. I think a great fit for him would be SF, where he could help Manny Lawson (when he heals) with being a hybrid type LB/DE.

Age. He's 33. He's got a few years left at best, unless he's one of those rare types that transcends age.

Also, unless idiot teams go after RFAs, players usually don't generate too high of a draft pick, or any draft pick that you would perceive as fair.

Jason Taylor has been awful against the run this year. Like gilbert0 said, he got dominated by a backup rookie RT against the Slurs. Part of the problem is that the coaches have tweaked his role a little--he's playing a lot more DE and not as far outside because they are trying to cover their lousy LBs. His great first step looks gone too.

I would guess he still has some value to a 3-4 team that would let him play pass-rushing OLB exclusively. Maybe the Jets, who have no pass rush at all, but I can't see them trading within the division. Part of the problem in dealing him is that they don't have anybody to fill his spot. IMO he'd fit nicely in Arizona but I really don't see any trades with him.

id offer a 7th for williams, hed be the 3rd or 4th string rb for the pats behind Mraoney, Faulk and Sammy "the cat" Morris. . his attitude wouldnt be an issue cause if he did a THING, hed be cut or smacked around by our leaders. . . Ricky Williams a Pat?? id love to see it

As a dolphin fan asking for the value of jason taylor is not a slap in the face. WE are looking to the future and jason taylor is not in future plans. Also think that randy is doing a really bad job here and i feel that he is one of the biggest problems. I still think we can net a 5th round pick form like broncos for ricky williams and like a 3 roun dpick for jason taylor??

Normally that would sound crazy, but considering the broncos wasted a 3rd rounder on Clarett a couple years ago i dont see why not.

Ricky isn't worth a 5th... Ricky's not worth a conditional 7th right now.

People who went for 5ths - Darwin Walker, Trent Green, Ryan Sims, Dante Hall, Anthony Hargrove... solid players who dont run the risk Ricky does. He may have a hard time finding a team thats willing to take him period.

No, it is crazy.

Arguing his age for mileage isnt a good arguement. Sure hes 30 but hes only played 6 years in the NFL. Granted they did run him alot of times but he has to have a decent amount of mileage left.

I usually put the max barometer for RBs at around 30-31 years old and 6-7 years in the league.

well it has been said the bucs offerd vikings a 5th for moore(rb) i think if they did the same to miami, ricky would be theres and miami would be happy. Also broncos if they lose henry after week 10, ricky would be there and would be fresh and i for one dont think they would miss a beat.

They offered a 6th for Moore, vikings wanted a first day pick.
