The second-best fullback in the NFL is forced to retire early. He will be sorely missed and Seattle will be crushed.

Poor guy.

Mack Strong is such a good Run Blocker. Probably the best in the league. Too bad his career had to end like this. IIRC, he was looking to retire a couple of seasons ago, when he was coaxed into returning by Holmgren and Alexander.

I guess, since he wasnt planning on retiring quite yet. (Or maybe he was according to this quote "And I think I kind of coaxed him into playing the last couple years," Holmgren said. )But i dont like that classification of the retiring early since hes 36 and has played in the nfl 15 years.

Nice to see so may people appreciate a truly underappreciated role player. Strong will be missed.

Alstott was a FB in name only, kind of like Dallas Clark

i was sad when i read this, even though he probably wouldve retired eventually anyway, it was inspriational to me that he couldn't afford luggage so he borrowed his moms and used garbage bags for his sneakers when he first came on with the seahawks, and eventually develops into a top FB in the NFL.
