Who is the better overall team?

Post#1 » by CDB » Tue Oct 9, 2007 10:09 pm

So I was having an argument with a friend and we were arguing about these 4 teams. I said that the G-Men is better overall and he says it's the Packs. So my questions to you guys are who do you think is the better team overall (Team Talent, QB's Running Game, Coaches, etc).

Washington Redskins - They are off to a good start at 3-1. I like Jason Campbell and Chris Cooley. There running game is good with Portis & Betts. I like them now but Im not sure how long they will last this season.

Green Bay Packers - The are off to a great start with Farve and the youngins on D but there running game is horrible. They had a bad loss to Chi-Town on sunday when they were up by 10. I like the reciving weapons that Farve and they are playing in a bad division (sorry Bears fan). But how would they fair in the rest of the season with a bad running game.

New York Giants - Little Brother Manning is doing good in his first 5 games. They had a bad loss to to GB in Week2 but rebounded back to win 3 straight. There defense looks to be back with that game against Philly but I do not like there running game with Brandon Jacobs (I personally believe that Ward should start). But I love Plax and Toomer, I see nice things for this team.

Philly Eagles - Oh Boy :banghead: What happen there. McNabb is on and off, they have no reciving game (Curtis is ok), The running game is good when Westbrook is healthy, there defense is ugh. They are off to a 1-3 start and coming off a bye, but Im not sure if they will even win 5 games with the way there playing.

So who do you think is a better team overall

^ er... Campbell over McNabb? No. McNabb hasn't been playing too well this year but he has the same number of good games this season, one, against the same team, the Lions, and McNabb's was a lot better.

QB - GB, Philly, NYG, Washington
WR - Philly, Washington, NYG, GB
WO - GB, Washington, NYG, Philly
D - Washington, GB, NYG, Philly

Anyways, I'd say Washington and GB are very close. Their upcoming game this week should help decide.

I agree with him mostly, thouhg I don't know if I think Washignton or Green Bay has the better D. They're both young and have done well this season. I especially like the secondary of the Redskins though....

Better QB's: Green Bay, Philly, NYG, Washington
Better RB's: Philly, NYG/Washington, Green Bay
Better WO: NYG, Green Bay, Washington, Philly
Better D: Green Bay, Washington, NYG/Philly
Better Coaches Philly, Washington, Green Bay, NYG

Favre, McNabb, Eli, Campbell
Westbrook, Jacobs/Ward=Portis/Betts(in my opinion), Who cares(packers)..
Burress/Amani/Shockey are getting very underrated here.., Driver with a bunch of other solid WRs, Cooley is underrated, Santana Moss is dangerous when he actually plays and touches the ball, Randle El is good, WAS/GB was too close to call, PHI is just bad.

I like the Redskins personally and think they're going to get into the playoffs this season but the Cowboys have the better team on both sides of the ball.

Like every other team that has the daunting task of replacing a HoF franchise QB, they

IMO, the Redskins are the best team out of the bunch. I havn't seen any Green Bay games so far this season, so I can't make a fair judgment on them, but of the remaining three, the Redskins are the better team.

So now that I see you guys views, who do you think will have a better future down the road? I like both the Packers and Skins, but what happens when Farve retire?

As for the future, if the Packers can find a good QB to succeed Brett Favre, they've got the best future out of all the teams. Their defense is relatively young (Especially their front 7) And they've got a good core of young offensive players.

Redskins are in a similar position, but their offensive line is getting pretty old. Outside of Kendall, Jansen, Samuels and Thomas, I don't entirely know who they have, so I can't make a complete judgment, but they should start looking for successors, some O-Line prospects to take over soon, to match with the burgeoning talent on the rest of the team. (Same goes for their D-Line)

Better Coaches Philly, Dallas/Washington, Green Bay, NYG

Aaron Rodgers has gone a long way towards instilling confidence in his team and Packer fans. I doubt you find many that aren't very comfortable with him as the replacement for Favre. He looked good in the 2006 preseason (101 QB rating) and outstanding in 2007 (98 QB rating). He chats up Brett every time Favre's on the sideline and seems to be soaking up everything he can.

I have no idea where I got Dallas from. I must've thought this was an NFC East thread or something.

So long as the Ethnic Slurs stay healthy on defense they're probably the best of this group. Their superior running game gives them the edge over GB in my mind.

Long-term I really like Green Bay, so long as they can replace Favre with even a JP Losman-type and find a young CB somehow. They're still the youngest team in the league and they've drafted well the last 2-3 years.

Looks like the Packers are proving that they are the second best in the NFC.
