When did TMQ turn into a Colts Fanboy?

I'm not a Patriots fan at all, but TMQ's articles have been getting on my nerves, ever since Camera Gate started.
When Camera Gate started, I thought he would be the normalizing voice of the whole NFL columnist/sensationalist world, the centrist POV, but apparently, he's taken a more extreme opinion than any columnist out there.
The Colts are the defending champions, so they obviously play well on the field. Yet after winning the Super Bowl, they have remained humble and appealing. Through prior years of postseason frustration, they never complained or pointed the finger outside their team.
O RLY?
Bill Polian?
The team's star, Tom Brady, is a smirking sybarite who dates actresses and supermodels but whose public charity appearances are infrequent.
O RLY?

And his constant claims of the Superbowl being "Tainted"
I'm starting to get real tired of him.
Maybe I should just skip to the Sweet/Sour/Sweet And Sour Plays of the week and the Cheerleader of the Week sections from now on....

Yeah, I noticed his arguments have been way off base lately. Not only is it making me want to avoid his columns, it's also validating the stupid potshots Bill Simmons has been taking at him for years. It's almost like some ESPN exec told him to start towing the reactionary company line or he'd get canned again.

"The team's star, Peyton Manning, stands for love of family, constantly appearing in public with his brothers, father and mother. Manning is happily married and a major donor to a children's hospital. Manning spends a lot of time at children's camps and events, and he constantly makes fun of himself. Ladies and gentlemen, representing Good, the Indianapolis Colts."
Is TMQ talking about the same Peyton Manning that has blamed his offensive line for every playoff game he's lost? I dont think Ive ever seen Peyton take responsibility for any sort of screw up. I remember a post game interview where he was picked off by a Pats player, and afterwards he refused to give the player credit for making a good play. Instead, he acted all self-righteous saying things like: "Im pretty good at reading defenses, and I know he wasnt supposed to be there. If that was where he was supposed to be, I wouldnt have thrown it there."
Every time the Colts lose, Peyton dumps the blame on someone else, be it his defense, his offensive line, or his kicker. Whenever the Patriots lose, Tom Brady ALWAYS shares in the blame, and usually takes the brunt of it on himself. Lets not forget to mention how Peyton charges some kid to appear at his b-day party, how all his commercials glorify himself, and the mere fact that the guy takes on every commercial in the universe because hes in love with himself. Peyton represents evil way more than Tom Brady does.

With 99.5% of other football journos and analysts enjoying the ride on the Pats' jock, it's good to hear a different side of it.
And I agree with the part he wrote about the running up the score when the game is out of reach.

The Patriots are emminently hateable. I'm thinking the article was a little tongue-in-cheek but either way I enjoyed it.

How soon do people forget that the same media was 'riding on the Colts' jock' for the past 4-5 seasons?
It's not so much the 'making the Pats look to be evil-doers' part that's upsetting, but it's the 'making the Colts look like modern day Saints' part that's upsetting.
TMQ Article Feb 5, 2007 wrote:Polian complained bitterly after that game, and should have; the league changed its officiating procedures, instructing zebras to end the traditional practice of switching to "let the boys play" in the postseason
Really Gregg? Bill Polian has never complained?
rkid - I don't agree with that. The Titans have shown that any team can come back at any point. Even when they're 25 point up with a Quarter left to go. Even a team led by Sage FREAKING Rosenfels.
Worm Guts - I don't know if it's tongue-in-cheek anymore... He's been trying to put an image over the Patriots as some sort of evil-doing satanic beasts from the lower depths of hell over the past 4-5 weeks.

He's just calling it like he sees it.
The Patriots were caught cheating. That's as low as it gets in sports.

Actually, nobody really knows what the Pats were caught doing because Goodell never came out and explicitly stated what the Pats were guilty of. Then he destroyed everything pertaining to the investigation for some strange reason.
I stopped reading TMQ last season when the good readers over at Football Outsiders would point out the multiple instances of him talking out of his ass when it came to non-football matters. I was never big into his football musings but I always enjoyed his centrist rants. Once they lost their sheen, I lost interest.
It was funny, until somebody linked his latest article, I never realized the extent of his hysterical pontifications over something he doesn't even bother to research (the Pats scandal). Either he's really toeing the company line of shoddy irrational journalism or he's gone soft in the bean. I hope it's not the latter because he was amusing at times.

I'm scared at myself. I've come to, not like, but admire the Patriots, considering how efficient and dominant they've been.
I'd probably be less like that if the Titans faced the Patriots this season though...

He really doesnt get Brady. Brady doesnt need pubic recognition for his good deeds. While Peyton Manning is constantly doing things in the media.

What, does Manning pull down his pants during charity events or something?

Oh, really? Then which two of the video-taping rules did the Pats violate?

This guy has no leg to stand on. How is he supposed to take the moral high ground after he makes quotes like this which got him fired from ESPN previously.
"Set aside what it says about Hollywood that today even Disney thinks what the public needs is ever-more-graphic depictions of killing the innocent as cool amusement. Disney's CEO, Michael Eisner, is Jewish; the chief of Miramax, Harvey Weinstein, is Jewish. Yes, there are plenty of Christian and other Hollywood executives who worship money above all else, promoting for profit the adulation of violence. Does that make it right for Jewish executives to worship money above all else, by promoting for profit the adulation of violence? Recent European history alone ought to cause Jewish executives to experience second thoughts about glorifying the killing of the helpless as a fun lifestyle choice."

The Patriots were caught videotaping signals from the sidelines, during the offseason the commissioner sent out a memo which stated: Don't videotape signals from the sidelines. What's the problem?

Because that's not the rule. That's the media's spin on the rule from a memo that came out last season. Not that I should have to go over this for the 101st time but there are two videotaping rules in effect (can be found in the NFL Rulebook, if you care to research):
1. You can only film signals/plays from specially-designated areas in the stadium on gameday
and
2. Use of technology in-game, outside of Polaroids and raido feeds, is strictly prohibited.
Go back and see the official releases from the commissioner's office. He addresses neither rule specifically in the punishment other than to say the Pats broke a videotaping rule. The rest is conjecture and hearsay on the part of the media, quoting unnamed "officials". That everybody seems to
now think it's number one isn't the point; I wasn't arguing that. I merely said the commish never explicitly addressed it.
