A local sports station jsut broke the news that Jags' defensive tackle Marcus Stroud will most likely be suspended for four games for violating the NFL's drug policy. It is believed he was taking some sort of steroids to help him get back from his surgery from last year. What a bone-headed move, good thing the Jags just signed Grady Jackson.

Not good for the Jags at all...Stroud is a monster on the D-line....but I guess Grady is the best available guy out there now. He should help fill the hole but he is not nearly as dominant as Stroud.

I'd take the fat man over Stroud anyways... but when both are on the same line, running against the Jags will be close to impossible, at least through the middle...

this is real bad news for the jaguars, he is not close to the level of a marcus stroud, but grady jackson will be alright. good signing by the jags to get him at this time.

This is bigger than the Garrard injury. With Stroud less than 100% in week 1, our rushing offense carved up the Jaguars' defense. With him gone, and a lesser player in Grady Jackson replacing him, teams should be able to run with much more ease against Jacksonville.
While they had a shot with Garrard being out, considering how good their rushing Offense is, that defense without Henderson or Stroud is one that looks considerably worse-off IMO.

Let's get this suspension done this week

That explains the Grady Jackson signing.
Anyone catch the play last week where Stroud straightened one arm on Arron Sears, one arm on John Wade, and pushed them both about 3 yards backwards? Dude is a freaking bull.
Side tangent: Shaun Rogers kept throwing Arron Sears around at will too. This week Sears gets the very good Darnell Dockett, with Bert Berry chipping in at times. Welcome to the NFL, rookie!

I don't see why not. The NFL has been handling the appeals very quickly though. IDK if it will keep him out this week but expect resolution before Week 10.

From what I understand, Marcus says he will in fact play this weekend. Losing Stroud will definetly hurt us for a few games, but I don't know if it will be that bad. He hasn't really been 100% this year, and thankfully ROb Meier could easily start at DT for most teams in the NFL.

He'll be a better player because of it.
At least my team will benefit from Stroud's mistake.
