Sounds like it to me. Are there any other explanations? Crowd noise does not normally reverb like that.

I heard that during the game. Fake crowd noise goes on in a lot of stadiums. I know theres plenty in Fed Ex Field which is sad because its packed with 90000 fans yet the idiots feel the need to pump fake ****.

Sounds to me like Cheatriot fans looking to take the spotlight off their teams severe cheating.

Heard that during the game and I thought it was an audio problem on CBS' part. I don't see what the big deal is...I don't think it affects the game that much.

Are you serious? You don't think artificially raising the crowd noise level when the visiting team is offense is a big deal? That's a pretty large advantage right there.

I'll believe it when I actually see some legit proof. That very easily could've been a problem with CBS's audio feed, and if it was really that noticeable, wouldn't we hear some personal testimonies? Kraft is just trying to throw mud because he knows his team has already been caught in the act. As for the Colts, they're innocent until proven guilty.

Is it that different than letting your field turn into a swamp like NE has done in the past including turning on sprinklers right before gameday or throwing sand on the field? Let's stop being a hypocrite.

The NFL is looking into allegations that the Indianapolis Colts piped in noise during the game Sunday between the Colts and the Patriots. The charge comes after Patriots President Jonathan Kraft became the latest NFL team executive to accuse the Colts of the distracting tactic that is against the rules.

"We're aware of it and we're looking into it," NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said Monday. "It may just be the TV feed from CBS, but we're checking it out."

Observers at the game said there seemed to be a "skip" in the sound during the game Sunday, which the Patriots won 24-20. That might confirm the long-held suspicion among many people in the NFL that the Colts play loud crowd noise to help distract opponents when the other team is on offense.

"We're aware of the accusations, but there has never been anything to substantiate it," Aiello said.

Kraft approached NFL Vice President of Security Milt Ahlerich after Kraft and his parents, Patriots owners Bob and Myra Kraft, left the Patriots locker room after the game.

Kraft was angry as he told Ahlerich the league needed to look into the allegation. Ahlerich is the same person who confiscated a videotape made by the Patriots during a game against the New York Jets in Week 2 that led to the Spygate controversy.

In addition, New England quarterback Tom Brady also commented on how loud it was in the RCA Dome.

"I don't know how you measure levels of being deaf, but we couldn't hear anything out there," Brady said.

This is the latest in a string of incidents between the teams that have fueled the growing Colts-Pats rivalry. In the past, Colts General Manager Bill Polian has vehemently argued that the Patriots have bent the rules in terms of use of replay challenges and the pass interference rule.

I think most teams have adapted their playcalling to adjust for loud crowd noise. If it is proven that the Colts broke the rules there is precedent for this and I believe the punishment is a fine.

Have you ever been to Indianapolis? It's a great city to live in...but that's besides the point, if you aren't going to bring anything constructive to this thread, then don't say anything at all. Comments like that are totally unnecessary, and bring nothing worthwhile to these boards.

But both teams have to play on the same surface. However it is possible to turn off the coach to QB radio (which happened yesterday BTW) and pump up the crowd noise only when the other team is on the field.

Yes the Patriots have cheated at home before (when they used a plow to clear a spot for a game winning field goal), but one is denying that.

Actually, it is. The examples you gave are not explicitly against the rules like the use of artificial noise is.

Man, between Evil winning yesterday and the accusations of Good cheating, TMQ's destined for a heart attack this week.

Do the Patriots really think Indy is cheating? or do they want someone else at least accused so they aren't the only team who is labeled as cheaters?

Actually it is a lot different. BOTH teams play on that field, whereas only the visiting team has to deal with "crowd noise".

PArtially incorrect. The Colts could lose a pick. It was issued in a memo by Tags back in 2006:
