The beginning of the end for M. Harrison?

Post#1 » by Kid Vicious » Thu Nov 22, 2007 4:41 pm

Out again

Considering the fact that this injury is 'debilitating', and the fact that he is 35, could we have seen the last good season from Harrison?

I know Rice played into his 40's, but Harrison has a slighter build, and Rice was a freak of nature.

Just last year, Harrison was talking about breaking all of Rice's records. I think one thing is for sure: somewhere, Jerry Rice is breathing a sigh of relief.

I think he's done. He's too old to be able to get back into the form he was before the Injury.

Kinda OT...but this is the catch i will always remember Harrison for. I never cheered for him, but this is unbelievable.

What about M. Bison? Do you think he'd be appearing in any other Street Fighter games in the future?

What about M. Night Shyamalan? Someone PLEASE tell me he's done writing movies. For good.

I know. I was bored at work.

Honestly, I think he still has a good year or two left in him. I wouldn't exactly say he was playing bad until his injuries. And I bet a hobbled, injured Marvin Harrison still makes a better receiver than half the receivers out there.

Marvin has another two or even three years with the work ethic he has.

I don't think he's done. The doctors have cleared him to play weeks ago, but I think the Colts have just been playing it safe with him. He still has 4 seasons in my book.

I think it is the beginning of the end, and as seen by Peyton Mannings play without him this hurts Peyton Manning. He still puts up good stats but without Harrison he has been somewhat inconsistent. It'll be interesting to see what kind of QB Manning could be without Harrison.

^ I disagree only because Marvin was with the Colts for two years before Manning as drafted and people hardly knew him. Harbaugh was the QB at the time and always seemed to ignore him. It wasn't until Manning came did people take notice of Marvin. Not to say he wasn't good on his own he had a decent college career but Manning actually throwing to him helped tremendously.

That being said losing Clark is a bigger issue for us than losing Marvin. Many have covered Marvin for years and we resort to Clark or Wayne as an alternative.

These guys weren't all-stars when they were drafted they just developed into that form.

I think he's done as a top #1 WR, but I bet he can keep going as a very effective #2 or #3 for at least a couple more years. He still has his hands and eyes and he should still be able to make cuts and find flat spots in zones.

I picked him in the third round on my fantasy team :(

I wouldn't say he's done since he has a great work ethic and is still one of the best route runners in the league with his IQ but like Iceness said, his days as a #1 receiver (at least as a Colt) is pretty much over with Wayne having a spectacular season. All in all though, I still think he has 2-3 more years left in him, which could mean a couple more 1000 yard and 8 TD seasons.
