TORONTO -- CFL commissioner Mark Cohon believes all signs point to an NFL team being placed in Toronto.
It's the first time the league has taken such a definitive stance on the subject.
"All of the tea leaves are indicating that it's shifting," Cohon said Friday. "You have guys like Ted Rogers and Larry Tanenbaum and Phil Lind, very powerful Canadians who are interested; you have an owner in Ralph Wilson in Buffalo who has said, 'When I die, my estate will sell the franchise'; you have the Bills interested in marking Toronto as part of their territory, which I believe is indication that, 'Hey, this our territory, we don't want another NFL team coming here.'
"So I think there's all these things lining up as an indication that it could happen. So I'm not sticking my head in the sand. That would be the worst thing for the CFL commissioner to do. So I think there's a real potential.

Stopped reading after "All of the tea leaves"
How the hell do you plan on getting an NFL team with that attitude.

Nah. That's the CFL Commissioner saying that. He certainly as hell would not be in any part of brining an NFL team over to Toronto.

I think there's been more talk of putting a team in Mexico City.

Not even 1/10th as close to having one in Toronto. I have always thought having 2 Argonaut teams would be cool. Keep the CFL in town as an affordable family event and have the NFL bring in big time corporate dollars.

If Larry Christmas Tree owns an NFL team I guarantee I won't be a fan of the NFL anymore.

Would Toronto even support a football team? Support them just as much as the Maple Leafs I mean, and to a certain extent, the Raptors.

The Argos apparently got 28 000 fans a game this year.

Yep, Toronto would be a great market for a football team, i know me and all my friends never watch the argos but we would go almost every sunday to watch an NFL team.

But the average NFL stadium fits 65,000+ fans. Toronto is a big city and could do better than some franchises I bet.

As a Packer fan I am opposed to it. I used to live in the TCs and have a lot of Viking fan in-laws. I love it when my team beats theirs. It is a real organic rivalry.

i'd waaay rather have the vikings move here and get adrien Peterson over the bills and the waterboy.
can toronto support an nfl team? wow....thats a weird question.
but basically yes, and easily
the leafs sell out every, and i mean EVERY game and have for the last 90 years. the raptors sell out 95% of the time, and like someone said even the **** CFL draws almost 30,000 a game...... and god....is it ****.
OH and if the blue jays didn't just fall off the map after the strike, Doc didn't get hurt every year, and Vernon Wells decided to hit for the whole season the jays would still draw sell out crowds like they did in the early 90's.
even lacross sells out in toronto.
Toronto has so much money its just stupid. and now with our $ worth more than yours (god that must piss you off

it makes more sense to put a team in Toronto than anywhere else in the world including any city in the US.
and Mexico........LMAO.
