I was hoping this would be another "joke" thread like that Joe Horn thread was.

That's horrible. Hope he's in stable condition and makes a smooth recovery.

Sean has a history, but I'm still a fan, and hopefully the critical becomes stable condition very shortly.

shot in the groin.. that's devastating for an athlete... i don't know how you can recover from that.. groin injury is pretty complicated.

Could this be a lingering event that Taylor was involved with a year or two ago; the gun incident or what not?

PFT is on top of it, apparently he is in a coma following surgery, had a lot of blood loss, and he is not out of the woods.

The latest update from Sirius radio...
THey had the PR officer from the local police dept. on the air. He said Taylor was shot in the upper inner leg. He had unconfirmed reports Taylor's femur was shattered, but that the wound was definitely "of a critical and potentially life-ending nature". Taylor lost a tremendous amount of blood and was in surgery to stabilize the bleeding and evaluate the extent of the injury to the leg and groin.

That was at about 12:50 PM, haven't heard anything new since then

Icness, I'm assuming that's EST because it's not even 12:50 over here yet. :P

This is freaking horrible news...hopefully Sean Taylor makes it out alive.

Sean Taylor you are in my prayers and football is the least important thing right now. Lets just hope he makes it out of this alive, and than hopefully he can attempt a comeback in the NFL. But let's pray for his life first before worrying about football.

Just heard about this.

Even being a Giants fan, I love and appreciate the way this guy plays. I hope he has a full recovery and maybe one day we'll see him on the field again.

Get well soon Sean.

Richard Sharpstein. What a lawyer name.

All that blood loss must be complicating this recovery time. Yikes.

Any time you're talking femoral artery, that's not good. Hopefully he lives thru this...
