Is anyone tired of The Brett Farve Coverage By The Media

Post#1 » by mr.ankle » Sat Dec 1, 2007 1:13 am

I know he had great run in the mid 90's But the Packers really have been basically mediocre this decade . And still The Media still acts like he is the best quarterback in the league . The Guy has not won any big Games since Reggie White Left the Packers .

You do realize he's having one of his best seasons since the beginning of the century, when everyone said he should've retired 2-3 years ago, right?

That may have something to do with it.

Oh, and the Packers are 10-2 as well.

Look at their Schedule . How Many Good teams have they played ? This team would be mediocre in the AFC

Yes but then again I never liked him or the Packers.

Of course I'm sure folks are sick of Romo, Brady, Manning etc as well.

With the exception of Manning(which oddly enough outside of his commercials isn't talked about nearly as much these days compared to the other three).

I rather hear about Favre than either Romo or Brady he's the lesser of the three evils.

It's still the NFL and you don't go 10-2 if your not good. Brett doesn't even have the weapons that his opponents have and yet he gets the job done. (Along with the defense)

The coverage has bothered me during the past, but not so much this year, as I know Brett will soon retire, and I can will remember what he's accomplished.

Wow, it amazes me how clueless some people are. The Packers were predicted to be bad before the season started BECAUSE their schedule was HARD. They have proved everyone wrong his year and Favre deserves all this media attention because he is having an MVP like season. Just turn it off if you don't like it.

Two defense-adjusted stats that have him ranked as the second and fourth best QB in the league, respectively.

Cowboys, Steelers (although they lost a few games to crappy teams), thats probably it.

I'm a Bears fan but I must give he and the Packers respect. He's having one of his best seasons, if not his best season. They are 10-2 and running away with the division, by far exceeding anyone's expectations.

Yeah, I was talking about the AFC exclusively though. I would put the Steelers below the Pack, seeing as how they lost to the Cardinals, Broncos and Jets (1 really bad team and 2 mediocore teams).

Id say maybe Jacksonville, but not the steelers. You may laugh at that but look again, yes Jacksonville has 3 losses but, they arent like the steelers losses. One was to Indy, the one to the Saints theyve been playing Quinn Gray at QB due to injury, the other was to the Titans who were impressive until Fat Albert got hurt and their D crapped out.

You Realize this is the NFL there isn't really that many Garbage teams.

Its not like you play can play the Patriots and colts ever game of the year.

But lets break down all the teams they beat.
Eagles (home)
Giants (away)
Chargers (home)
Vikings 2x
Redskins (home)
Broncos (away
Chiefs (away)
Panthers (home)
Lions (away)

Thats 3 maybe 4 teams that will be in the playoffs this year.

So stop Hating on Favre just look at his numbers they don't lie

67.4 completion % 3rd in the NFL
3,412 yards 2nd in NFL
22TDs 4th in NFL
97.9 Passer Rating 5th in NFL

If it wasn't for Brady having the monster year Favre would be a sure-fire MVP canidate.

It's a compelling mystery story. How the hell did an over-the-hill interception machine who should've retired 3 years ago lead an offense everyone thought would be crappy to a 10-2 record? I do think Favre gets a little too much credit for it (the defense is stellar). His numbers are inflated because they only recently discovered that you can run the football. He's had a few foul games... Dallas, Washington, and Chicago come to mind... but he's otherwise looked a decade+ younger. Years from now, people are still going to be scratching their heads, wonder wtf happened.
