Julius Peppers sucks
3 sacks on the year... what a slump from a dominating physical specimen to an amazingly bad player.

Mediocre linemen seem to be walling him out of the play, and quite often.
I remember back in the game vs. the Titans, not only did David Stewart shut him down, but also, Eugene Amano was doing a number on him, whenever he came into spell Stewart.
There's something about him that doesn't look right. There's a lack of explosiveness that we were all so used to seeing out of him, in previous seasons. Perhaps he's playing through an injury?

Maybe he is pulling a Moss? Gets traded to the Pats in the off season for a 4th rounder, converted to a hybrid DE/LB and God help us all
First the federal government borrowed money; then gave the money to Bank of America; then I borrowed some of that money from Bank of America and gave it to the federal government; then the federal government gave the money back to Bank of America.

Ding ding ding!, Give that man a prize!
That would not surprise me at all. The thing is, he's due a new contract this summer and was angling for the richest defensive contract ever. So much for that, unless the Niners are still giving away an extra $10M to each FA they sign.
There is also talk he hates John Fox and is trying to get him fired. I don't buy that but it's not without some merit.

What about that rumor theyre going to give Briggs a huge contract? (and that theyre the apparent frontrunners to get him) I know they tried to make a trade for him but didnt because at the time they couldnt sign him to an extension (because of the franchise player tag deadline thing passing).

I think Lance Briggs will stay in Chicago, and rightly so--he's more valuable to them than he is to any other team, because if he leaves they have absolutely nothing to replace him with, and their D is predicated on having LBs just like him. Urlacher will almost certainly be gone after next season (unless they obscenely overpay him) and Hillenmeyer is nothing more than an adequate starter. Of course signing Briggs to a deal comparable to what he's getting this year with lots more upfront $$ means they almost certainly won't be able to sign a premium QB or RB, not with Hester needing a new deal and Tommie Harris also probably needing a new deal.

I think that has a lot to do with it. Jeff Lageman (former defensive end with the Jaguars and now an analyst) broke down Peppers' play before the Panthers/Jags game this season and he noted that he definitely isn't the same guy who came into this league and was an instant impact.
Motor isn't running like it used to, giving up on plays, not as much effort.
He'll still get paid though.
