Parcells to the Falcons
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3160597&campaign=rss&source=NFLHeadlines
Looks like Parcells is going to head to the Falcons, but not as a coach. He's expected to take over as VP of Football Operations, which basically makes him a de facto GM, actually the boss of the new GM.
Former GM Rich McKay has been offered the job as team president, which is basically Arthur Blank giving him a dignified golden parachute.
Parcells insists he has no interest in coaching the team. Yeah right...

How much control did Parcells have in New York? I know he has a somewhat decent reputation as a talent evaluator but, really, this goes well beyond that.

The Singletary rumors are all over the place, but he's not a Parcells guy and the Tuna almost never takes chances on guys he doesn't previously trust. Shameless personal hunch: Jason Garrett.
I think he will do better as a GM than as a coach, provided he shows more patience and flexibility than he has in his last two stops. He does have a very good eye for finding guys who can excel at what he's asking them to do.
I also think this spells the end of Deangelo Hall, Alge Crumpler, Warrick Dunn, Michael Jenkins, and Demorrio Williams as Falcons. It might not happen before next preseason, but I'll be very surprised if more than one of those guys is playing for Parcells next year. Parcells has never been shy about wheeling and dealing around the draft and eating some dead cap space.

Or, Parcells to the Dolphins...
What a freaking mess those two teams are, and their owners are perhaps two of the most genuinely nice guys in pro sports.
Didn't Jimmy Johnson get courted by these two teams in the same offseason in the same manner about 8-10 years ago, and did the heavy petting but never broke the cherry?

Dolphins are so far away.
Patriots are going to dominate the division for a while & the Jets have some promising young talent.
And the Bills are usually pretty solid.. I don't get it.
Two reasons:
1. His freaking ginormous ego. Belichick has the better of him right now and that burns up Parcells like a giant thorn in his tender paw.
2. He already turned around New England and the Jets in the past, so doing it with a 3rd AFC East team makes perfect sense. He can stick it to his old teams on his way up.
BTW--credible reports have Parcells hovering in the waters to take over the Giants too, so who really knows where in the world he's going to wind up.

Parcells already had negoiations with Miami, Cowher said he was going to be out for 2 years long before he was on our radar, and Petrino just couldn't cut it as an NFL HC.
I know I said I wouldn't respond to your trolling, but you're just too humorous to pass up sometimes.
