Obviously the Dolphins are #1 and the Rams #2, but there are four 4-12 teams and I'm not sure how that'll play out. I'm pretty sure once you go through all the tie-breakers the Falcons get #3, but I could be wrong. Anyone know for sure?

No, whoever the Pats trade it to gets the 8th pick.
The AJC is saying the Falcons are picking third so I'm sticking with that. Happy day.

Someone told me that those dont take strength of schedule into affect. Which would make sense because the Ravens have played a much harder schedule than the Niners, but I dont know for sure.

I don't know this for a fact, but I think they use the playoffs to help determine the strength of schedule formula. So the Jets look like they're in good shape to get the #3 pick, assuming the Pats win the Super Bowl.
Amazing how many teams wound up 7-9. And a humble prediction: 3 of the 4 teams that wound up 8-8 will be in the playoffs next year.

Fortunately playoffs don't have anything to do with it. Unfortunately the AJC was wrong in their initial release. Here's the official word from the NFL:
Atlanta, Kansas City, and Oakland had the same strength-of-schedule. Since Kansas City finished third in the AFC West and the Raiders fourth (the tie was broken on the basis of the Chiefs

Whats funny is they could have secured at least the third pick with a loss yesterday. Instead their win put them at 4-12 to tie with the chiefs and other teams. I know teams dont tank but knowing that info I would think theyd at least consider it. (And its not like anyone would have noticed them tanking)

If I'm a highly touted QB out of college, I would be pretty happy right now. I wouldn't be surprised if 3 QB's get taken in the top ten.
Baltimore needs one, so do the Jets (I'm 50-50 on that team's QB situation), Kansas City, and Atlanta.
I say the player who drops down will be McFadden strictly because 4 or 5 teams in the top 10 have serious QB issues. Edit: And that's not taking into consideration that Dorsey, Jake and Chris Long are also top ten picks. Not to mention Road Warrior Animal's kid. Miami might trade down, or trade for Derek Anderson. Who knows?

If we're smart the only non-lineman we take in the top 5 is McFadden.

Yep. I don't see any of the qbs in the draft being "game changers". Ryan is a solid qb but qb should be lower on the burner for the Falcons. Take McFadden if he is there, if you can't take him then take Long. McFadden is a game changer and with Dunn almost done (hahahahaha), we need a rb to build off of. We need to take a lesson from the Vick draft. Long would also be a good pick because our line looks like a jv football line.

Atlanta should trade down to be honest. If McFadden's not there, trade down and grab more picks. From there, build your offensive or defensive line.
