Cris Carter
Darrell Green
Fred Dean
Richard Dent
Randy Gradishar
Derrick Thomas
Andre Tippett
Russ Grimm
Bob Kuechenberg
Randall McDaniel
Ray Guy
Art Monk
Andre Reed
Emmitt Thomas
Paul Tagliabue
Das Link
If I had a vote: Carter, Green and Tags (locks). Thomas, Grimm and Guy.
A lot of people have a problem with putting a punter in the HoF, but I believe the guy that revolutionized the position (regardless of field time) deserves a spot.
How bout you?

Darrell Green is a lock. Art Monk doesn't get in because of Cris Carter... Russ Grimm doesn't get it cuz the media hates the Redskins.

Derrick Thomas
Emmitt
Carter
I still dont get the Monk argument. Yea when you add the stats up theyre nice. However, it took him 16 seasons to get those, and he only got over 1000 yards in a season 5 times. Really, 5 out of 16 is hall of fame worthy for a reciever? He averaged 4 receiving TDs a season.

Just because you're a 'Boys fan doesn't mean you can't vote for Darrell Green.

I guess so. Im not against him getting in, i just dont know if hes a first ballot guy or not.
Speaking of rivals, how is the all-time leading rusher not a first ballot lock?

Not at all! Tippett was probably one the best strong-side linebackers of his generation. A suberb all-around defender he was a monster pass rusher and one of the better run-stuffing linebackers in the game. He's often overlooked because of his more famous contemporaries (Taylor, Singleton, Carson) as well as being bookended by a great generation of linebacking (1970s) and the new era of dominant LBs in the 1990s. Plus it doesn't help his image much playing for the mediocre nonentities that were the Patriots of the 1980s.
He's every bit as deserving as Derrick Thomas, and I say that as a huge fan of Derrick Thomas.

Emmitt Thomas, homie. Of course the other Emmitt will be first-ballot when he's eligible.

I see your point, I didn't realize he had 100 career sacks until 5 minutes ago.

The most consistent player to ever play the game being a question as a first ballot is hilarious.
The NFL will never see a player as great as Darrell Green. Not a single player will ever be able to achieve what he did.

First off, Green cant even touch Deion. Secondly, what exactly did Green achieve that cant be achieved?

Not only did he accomplish that as a Sam but he rarely ever had anything resembling competent help in the front seven for most of his career.

Take over the leading rusher spot from Emmitt Thomas.
All jokes aside, you have to be living under a rock if you can't regonize what DG did in his career. Besides Jerry Rice, not a single player in NFL history will come close to being as great as him over such a long time.
Can't touch Deion? Deion was a great cover man. A pansy football player. The definition of soft. Its embaressing how the Cowboy jock sniffers and hype lovers think Deion is the greatest corner of all time. The dude was the definition of WEAK. Sure he could cover, but his reign as a great cover man doesn't even come close to Darrells consistency.
Wake me up when the NFL sees another player as consistent over such a long time as Mr. Redskin.

Is Vinny Testeverde the best QB ever then?
