Yup, the station has pulled its regularly scheduled 5:30 p.m. Saturday "Seinfeld" rerun in an attempt to disrupt Manning's preparation for Sunday's NFC Championship Game against the Packers.

(Manning will be free at that hour; the first thing on his schedule is a team dinner at 6.)

"We don't want to give any comfort to the enemy whatsoever when they come into town," Zollar says. "We know laughter is good medicine, and we decided we're not going to give that to him."

Put on the Teletubbies! I'd finally get to watch them again.

DVD technology is yet to reach Green Bay.
First the federal government borrowed money; then gave the money to Bank of America; then I borrowed some of that money from Bank of America and gave it to the federal government; then the federal government gave the money back to Bank of America.

LOL. They showed this at NFL Total access. They suggested either show him an episode of MASH, or watch highlights of Emmitt Smith

I think its funny that the thread title says "What does Wisconsin do??" as if we all got together and held an election deciding to do this.

Theres no difference between this and that NY newspaper sending the Jessica Simpson lookalike to Dallas last week. It's meant to be funny.

For the record, the options you can vote for are

rerun of MASH
rerun of Mondays Donald Driver Show
the Vince Lombardi special
a Good Feet infomercial starring Emmitt Smith

I voted for the Good Feet infomercial since I'm not watching tv at that time of day usually anyways. If it were a Magic Bullet infomercial I might plan to be in front of the tv though.

Yes but the difference is the Jessica Simpson thing was actually creative ...

This on the other hand was not... especially when Eli could watch something else to help him out.. Ooh take away Seinfeld from him... that will ruin his hot streak... Especially when you can buy a DVD of the show and get a DVD player to watch them in... Didn't think about the big picture eh?

What would be funny is if the Giants beat the Packers and then Eli can say to the entire Packers Nation

" No Superbowl for You!"

Don't worry, Eli! Jerry Seinfeld's got your back.

The nasty general manager of the Fox affiliate in Green Bay said he's yanking Eli Manning's favorite TV show, "Seinfeld," while the Giants are in town. But have no fear - the funnyman told The Post yesterday he'll equip the quarterback with all the shows he needs.

"I'm going to send Eli a complete collection of 'Seinfeld' DVDs," the consummate New Yorker said, "and a partial collection of 'Hogan's Heroes' for inspiration!"

Jay Zollar of Fox's WLUK-TV in Green Bay announced to Packer faithful that the regularly scheduled broadcast of "Seinfeld" would be replaced on Saturday night to throw off the Big Blue star.

"Eli, no Seinfeld for you!" Zollar shouted into the camera on Wednesday night's local newscast, mocking the "No soup for you" line made famous by Seinfeld's "Soup Nazi."

"We don't want to give any comfort to the enemy whatsoever when they come into town," he said.

But Seinfeld didn't appreciate the attempted sack on Manning.

"You think I'm going to take that sitting down?" Seinfeld railed yesterday.

"I'm dispatching George Costanza to be the new traveling secretary for the Packers."

He was referencing a famous episode in which George - employed as the traveling secretary for the Yankees - convinces the team to switch to cotton uniforms, which shrink after they are washed, leaving the Bronx Bombers too restrained by their pinstripes to play.

Zollar, who failed realize that Manning can just as easily watch the show about nothing on DVD, is not nearly as crafty as The Post, which distracted Dallas Cowboy quarterback Tony Romo with a Jessica Simpson lookalike during last weekend's thrilling Giant win.

the station should not have made it public info. Then Eli would turn on the TV and be confused.

Some people in this thread are really making too much of a big deal about this. It's just meant to be a little funny thing. Don't have to sweat over it.

I think the funnier thing is that both Sony and Jerry Seinfeld sent him the full DVD set.
