I'm only 16 so I've obviously never seen him play. He was on one of the greatest teams ever and won 4 superbowls which is impressive. But is he really a top qb of all time? His numbers really do not impress me at all.

For his first 5 years he had either same amount of td's thrown to int or more int's then td's.

For the rest of his career (8 years) his td-int ratio was 164-129. That's good but not that great.

He was only in the top 5 in passing yards per game twice in his career and is 77th all time. His highest passer rating (which i find stupid but still) is 84 and for his career is a 71.. He only led the NFL in passing td's once.

Now i'm not saying he's not a HOF and not a good qb. But is he really a all time great? I really don't think he's a top 10 qb and I think if qb's like: Aikman, Elway, P. Manning, Brady, Favre, Steve Young, Montana, Moon, Staubach, and Unitas had the teams he was on, they'd win just as much if not more.

What's your opinion? Am i crazy? (steelers fans don't kill me please)

yes, overrated. true, he won 4 super bowls, but it was really the defense's doing.

IMHO, the media often reward individual players too much for super bowl wins (which are TEAM efforts). for example, bill belichick is considered a great coach because of his 3 super bowls, but then tom brady is also considered a great quarterback for those same 3 super bowls... and teddy bruschi is considered a great linebacker because of them too... obviously all three guys are vital ingredients to that winning formula, but i feel each gets credited as though he did it on his own, which simply isn't true. we know that belichick + brady + bruschi = super bowl caliber, but change any part of the left side of that equation, and you could wind up with completely different.

it is for that reason that i usually think it's unfair to decide a guy's HoF status based on how many championships he's won. i mean, kevin faulk has 3 super bowl rings, but i think you'll all agree that he's not canton-worthy.

Outstanding players around Terry. However, Tom Brady mentioned his name as one of the best all time, so that leaves me to believe he's not overrated.

You have to factor in the style of play that Bradshaw and those Steelers teams ran. They were okay with him taking shots and getting picked on occasion; they knew their defense could hold the fort, and their passing game was designed to stretch the field and produce big plays. That style is almost unheard of today, it's the polar opposite of the West Coast offense and shorter, precision-based passing game that predominates the last 20+ years.

Without going back and looking at any numbers to back me up, I would venture that Bradshaw ranks real high in yards per completion and TDs per attempt. His accuracy was near the best during his era, an era where DBs could do just about anything and the QBs weren't protected at all. He threw an amazing deep ball, a very catchable ball with great touch but also with good zip. He could move around and buy time well too.

in his career for yards per completion he's actually 35th. i don't know where to find td per pass.
