I like the signing, but I don't like the contract we gave him.

That's a whole lot of money for a guy who had one good season. Although I do think he has some very good upside.

Holy crap.

I listened to an interview with him last week on NFL Radio. Sounds like a really great guy with his head on straight and knows the value of hard work.

That said, I'm shocked at the amount he got. He's only got one season under his belt in which he played standing up and he's going to get better at it, but wow.

Just listened to him on XM and he said David Harris called and talked to him. The kid is only what 23,24 and is already a leader on and off the field and one of the best linebackers in the game. Oh boy, I cannot wait until this draft.

$20 million signing bonus, $22 million guaranteed, one of the richest contracts in the history of the position.

Whiskey. Tango. Foxtrot.

WTH?

He's getting $22M in guarantees?

The jets are going to put themselves into cap hell if this signing doesn't work, and Faneca gets older after a season or two.

Do you realize that Tannenbaum is a capologist and an accountant?
I'm sure these contracts are beneficial to the jets now and in the future. And look at the jets since Tangini has been in charge. We have only 2 starters VIA FA, Kenyon Coleman and Abram Elam who was a waiver wire claim. This is the first true splurge on free agency for us in years.

Cardinals fans only wanted him back for a 4 mill a year average but know they are really laughing at the money he got on their message board.

Pace not only had his breakout year last season but that is also is only good year that he has ever had in his young career. I wanted the Niners to sign him but I didnt know how much money he was looking for but now I know why they didnt go after him.

All I know is that the Cards got basically the same player with the same production in Travis LaBoy who signed a 5 year 22 million dollar contract and now that I see that contract I would have loved for the Niners to atleast contact the guy.

Great signing, but without a doubt overpaid the guy. Hopefully it works out for the Jets at least.

I wonder what is going with the minds of Lance Briggs and Kawika Mitchell. Calvin Pace, he only had one strong year and it could be because of a contract.
