The chatter I heard was a 3rd this year and a conditional 09 pick, somewhere between 3rd and 5th. But that was at least two weeks ago and everyone I've talked to thinks it's just rumor mongering. But the principals involved do have a good working relationship and it makes sense on both sides, so you never know...

I'm starting to get annoyed with this whole situation. The rumor began with Shock going to the Saints pre-draft. Then it died. Then it rose up from the dead with the idea that Boss would have no problem assuming his role, but the Saints were iffy. Now, its coming full-circle and he's on the move to New Orleans again.

Make up your mind Mr. Reese.

The Vikings could have offered the same. :(

He needs a fresh start so he can revamp his career. I do wish him the best, but prefer him to stay out of New Orleans, so I hope another jump wants him more.

Giants would be looking for at least a second or Roman Harper (I've also heard both) and a late pick. Giants aren't desparate to deal Shockey, he's still a multiple time pro bowler who, when utilized properly, is an elite TE.

I just read this rumor somewhere as well, the Giants are trying to get the 40th overall pick and Roman Harper for Shockey, but the Saints do not want to trade a solid starting safety who is just starting to enter his prime at the age of 25. In the end I can see Shockey going to the Saints for a draft pick or two.

I'd be happy with either Harper or the second, a swap of thirds and a late pick (6th or 7th).

The Saints aren't dealing both, they are pretty high on Harper, he's a really smart player, and lays the lumber.

I'd love to see Shockey here though, but I'm too worried about injuries to deal for him unless we get a great deal.

The Saints would be pretty stacked if they got Shockey. It finally give Brees someone other than Bush to throw to.

Marques Colston anyone? Devery Henderson? Bobby Meachem?

If the Saints want Shock to be that gamebreaker in the receiving corps, they will be very disappointed in the end. I love him, but he's notorious for giving up on some plays and then blaming his QB for it.

this is brees game. pick and pop over the middle. in that area, shockey will be an asset. now, if they can only get some help for bush, and he will take them once again to the conference championship. and i'm thinkin this year, even further.

Heard this AM:
The Saints are real interested in moving up to get Glenn Dorsey. If it's at #2 overall, say goodbye to the 2nd rounder and this deal is toast.

He may be gone:

PFW believes that Giants TE Jeremy Shockey has been traded to the Saints for multiple draft picks, including the team's second-rounder (No. 40). We'll try to confirm this as soon as we can.

Jeremy Shockey's time with the G-Men might be coming to a close. In the past hour I've gotten word about a possible deal that would send a 2nd round draft pick as well as two late-round picks for the Pro-Bowler. There have also been reports out of ESPN, that the Saints are considering a deal for Shockey and a decision will be made over the next 24 hours.

According to what I've been told, the Saints have received a final offer from New York and are contemplating whether to deal for Shockey or try and trade up a few spots in the top 10 to acquire defensive tackle Sedrick Ellis out of USC.

Updates as I get them.

Somewhere amidst all the hoo-ha is the truth and it appears that someone may have finally found it. According to Pro Football Weekly, Shockey will soon call New Orleans home.

Vikings could use an upgrade over Visanthe Shiancoe and Jim Kleinsausage.

Why would the Saints want Shockey. He is a punk and will only hurt your team. I heard a rumor that he was upset that the Gaints were doing so good in the playoffs because they were doing so good with out him.
