Bengals should've taken this deal in a hearbeat, I doubt they'll get a better offer from another team.

according to espn, one guarranteed 1st and a 3rd, which could become another first if 85 meets performance stipulations.

Wow... I'll admit Chad was childish in how he went about this, but this also makes Cinci look bad... Marvin Lewis daring him to sit out the season instead of taking the 1st and 3rd?

Hell even TJ said that the Bengals would regret not trading Chad... now its become a pissing contest... but overall, I'm not surprised by Chad, but I'm shocked at how stupid Cinci is for not jumping on that offer. Trade him to the NFC! I was certain they wouldn't get 1 1st for Chad...

So Cincinnati didn't trade their game-changing, top-5-in-the-league WR for a first this year and a third next year and suddenly they're a bad organization? Hell no. There's a reason business don't bend to a player's will: It's bad business. Chad should shut up, Marvin should be fired, and the whole front office should be removed.

The Bengals are run by a group of morons, but they got this one right; two guaranteed first-rounders or it should be no deal. It's the closest offer to his actual value, but it's not good enough, and Cinci let them know. Great move.

In the bigger picture, the Bengals have a ton of holes on the roster but most of those can be fixed with some savvy drafting and free-agent signing within the next two years. They aren't far away from the playoffs and can certainly get there with some extra help in the draft. Still, to say that the front office is nuts for refusing to trade him is in itself ludicrous. It's not like keeping Chad doesn't make the team better on paper, and name one player who has ever quit on a team because of another guy's actions.

no WR is worth 2 1st rounders much less a 30 year old problem child, they shouldve taken the deal and run, especially when im sure most teams would take the other 2 WR's who are on the market

Well, supposedly your boys are also interested in Chad; if I ran the Bengals, I'd ask for your two first-rounders this year because I'd think that fair value. Putting the conditions on a 3rd-rounder like that seems pointless when it's likely Chad wouldn't meet those conditions.

what were the conditions? maybe they werent hard to meet

and ive heard that jerry's interested in acquiring a big time WR, id steer as far away from chad as i could (even if he is friends with TO)

plus jerry isnt a big enough idiot to give away 2 1st rounders for a 2nd time

god i hope this doesnt come back to bite me in the ass

He is overrated, Receiver is one of if not the most easy position to fill in the league. I take that deal, unless i know another team is going to offer me more(which I doubt).

No its not. Getting a quality #1 reciever is probably one of the toughest. Its too bad that it seems all the big time recievers are a bunch of sore vaginas.

I see where you're coming from in that you don't want to bend to the will of a star player...Its a matter of principles and I understand that.

But this is a good a deal you're going to get so I think you guys should've jumped on it. Its a really unfortunate situation overall but take it from a guy who has gone through this same s**t from his team- the more you wait the less you're going to get in return. This game of 'cat and mouse' is foolish and the Bengals are really hurting themselves here.
