Niners

C-

Didn't really make anything happen, or take advantage of draft trends. Just sort of sat there and made safe picks, mostly along the lines. Nothing terrible...some feel the first was a slight reach, but nothing major...but also nothing to point at and say 'okay, THAT will improve the team'.

Especially as most of the top picks will essentially just replace vets who left (Allen, Young, etc.) it feels a bit like an exercise in water treading, which is ok if you're a good team, not so much if you're awful.

Harry I think the Niners 2nd pick was awful. Chilo Rachal goes undrafted if he doesn't go to USC imo.

Too many reaches in this draft for the Patriots. I think Mayo is gonning to be good and be productive this seanson. I also liked the way we adressed our needs at linebacker and cornerback. They also made a great trade in trading their first thrid round pick for a 2nd round next year and a 5th in this draft ( I have no ide why San diego would agree to do that )

Redskins:

A-. They solidified their receiving corp, they got their nickel corner, albeit he may be a bit small, they got the best special teams player in the draft, and appear to have a swing-guard and tackle to go along with Stephon Heyer.

C+ for the Skins

Probably would have been an A if they hadn't drafted Davis. Our defensive line keeps getting older and older, we keep ignoring it. Had they taken Campbell or Groves, this draft would have been huge but I hate the lack of upgrade on the d-line.

So you won't give them an A b/c of one player? That makes no sense. If Davis was the top rated player on your board, why not take him? There's a lot of teams out there using 2 tight end sets, Indy, Giants just to name a couple.

Jaguars - A-/B+

The Jags came into the draft with only one pressing need and that was pass rush. They really helped themselves with getting Jacksonville-area fan favorite Derrick Harvey and Quentin Groves. I like the pickups of Trae Williams and Chauncey Washington, I don't really know enough about Thomas Williams to grade him.

It has more to do with the fact that we have a massive hole at defensive end. We badly needed a young rotation player, who can come in and provide fresh legs on 3rd downs. We had the golden oppurtunity to adress the DE spot this year but blew it. A 2nd quality TE is a luxury that an average team like the Redskins can't afford to have like the Colts or Giants.

We could have drafted a potential starter at defensive end and replacement for Philip Daniels. Now we have to suffer through another year of inconsistent and average defensive line play.

Kenny Phillips - Giants need a safety and I think Phillips will be a Pro-Bowler some time in his career

Terrell Phillips - fits in perfectly in Spags' aggressive scheme

Mario Manningham - if he matures, he'll be a stud in the NFL

Bryan Kehl - Giants needed an outside LB and with Wilkinson being the starter(stay healthy dammit) it was a good pick

Jonathan Goff - S-T-E-A-L ... love this pick. great pick espically if Strahan retires and Kiwi moves back inside

Andre Woodson - Carr is only here for one year, Lorenzon and Wright sucks. he'll be the backup

Robert Henderson - this is just depth incase Strahan retires.

B+ ... I would've gave Reese an A+ but he didn't get a OT ... hopefully he signs one who got cut and finds a gem, just like he did with Madison Hedgecock who's a superb blocker.

I love Antoine Cason..but that's about it. We took 2 slow corners, 1 slow FB and one slow HB.

Cason is very good at everything except in the speed department. Tribble is small and slow but has good hands and instincts and is a good tackler.

Then, we make one of the worst trades ever. We send a 2009 2nd rounder and this years 5th to NE for a 3rd this year, with which he pick up someone who is too slow and un-athletic to be a HB, and isn't a good enough blocker to be a FB in Jacob Hester.

Then we pick a power runner, then another Corner, and finally a RT.

We still have a big hole at S where i think we could've addressed instead of taking 2 RBs and 2 CBs. And we are still lacking Depth at NT.

Jets B
1- OLB/DE Vernon Gholston- Highest potential in the draft but he can be a bust but I dont think he will. He is a hard worker, has great raw ability and he has only played football for 5 years. Imagine if the Jets can get him to use all his tools, we can have a phenom on our hands.

1- WR/TE- Dustin Keller- Was very confused but after watching highlights and reading, I think he'll be very nice for us. He had better 40 times then most big name WRs and he has amazing hands. He'll create a bunch of mismatches against linebackers and safeties, like it.

4- CB/S - Dwight Lowery- Lacks speed and reports say he has tight hips but he has great ball skills as well as instincts. May be a FS for our team and he creates a lot of turnovers. The Jets have been amazing drafting 4th round picks these past years(Rhodes, Washington, Cotchery) so don't be surprised if he ends up being a playmaker.

5- QB- Erik Ainge- Going to be very interesting... The jets had a 3rd round grade for him so they feel they got a ton of value. He has good tools but often injured and weak mentally. Seems like a project, im excited to have him.

6- WR- Marcus Henry- Really liked the pick because he compliments the smaller guys on our roster, Rhodes and Cotchery. He's a real big red zone target. Lacks the speed to be an every down WR but 20 yards and in, he's a massive weapon. Great hands, great size and great body control. After the initial step he has good speed becasue of his long strides. Had a breakout season, maybe just a one year wonder.

7- OT- Nate Garner- All I know is that he blocked for 4, 1000 yard rushers in his career including McFadden and Felix Jones.

Could you explain? Obviously I doubt many Niner fans know a lot about some lineman from USC unless they're a big SC fan.

Anyways, I'd give the Niners a D-. I liked the Reggie Smith pick, which is what's preventing me from giving a straight F, but Balmer was a reach in the first round, and Morgan, Grant, and Wallace are guys projected to be backups at best by most experts.

Our biggest need IMO was to get some speed on offense and special teams, and we failed to move up or move down to get another 2nd round pick to grab a Desean Jackson, Sweed, or Kelly. Now, we have the slowest set of WR's in Isaac Bruce, Arnaz Battle, and Bryant Johnson, a good RB who's career we're wasting in Gore, and our biggest deep threat is either our underachieving bust TE or Jason Hill, who I'm surprised was a disappointment last year and still feel he can be a pretty good wideout, but nevertheless was a non-factor last year as a rook.

Chilo's main positive is that he has a great motor, but that also may be his biggest flaw too. He plays out of control, from the few USC games I saw it was a problem. He loses focus easily and gets discouraged at times . He has decent athleticism, some say even great athleticism but he has trouble translating it on the field. He's very strong but because he has trouble bending his knees people get by him. He also get tired easily.

The guy has a long, long, long way to go before he's a starter in the league IMO. There were many better choices than him in the 2nd round.

Vikings

A if you consider the picks they traded for Jared Allen

B- for just the picks this weekend. I'm happy with Tyrell Johnson, John David Booty, and John Sullivan. Letroy Guion and Jaymar Johnson are mysteries to me so I'll wait and see. I'm concerned that nothing was done to address depth at OT or DE. The lack of depth could become a factor this season.

I give the Falcons a C+. They had a chance to have a franchise changing draft with all the picks, but I just don't feel like they maximized their draft. Some solid pieces (not a fan of Matt Ryan), but I was hoping we'd focus more on the lines. Only ended up with one lineman (Sam Baker).

The only two picks I really liked were Curtis Lofton and Chevis Jackson. Everything else was kind of "I hope they know what they're doing..."

I don't expect many of the Packers picks to see the field this season and I'm fine with that.

I give them a B+, an A if Brohm turns into either a quality starter down the line or a first or second rounder via tade.
