Is Reggie Bush Worth the Second Pick Overall?

I had this argument with my USC fans throughout the year. He's still an electrifying player with great speed and movements but he's not a every down back like Adrian Peterson. He can't run inside. His average rushing yard is around 3.7. His longest rushing yard is 22.. He can't block. Why doesn't NO just make him a WR then?
If he can't crack the 1000 rushing yards this season, I am ready to call him a bust.

Why does he get hated on so much? Reggie Bush is the most electrifying player in the NFL he can do everything, He just needs to bulk up he will never be a great Running back but he will be a great all around back.

He is electrifying but his production so far has been mediocre in my opinion. His 3.7 rushing average is just pathetic for top picked running back in that class. He is fun to watch but his production value so far has been pretty disappointing.

I still say he is one of the most agile players i have ever seen. He just needs to turn his talent into production.

yea really AP is the best Young pure running back, Peterson will never be as agile or versatile as Bush. The Vikings cannot line Peterson up in the slot and he can't return kicks, so yea.

Are you serious?
His 16 returns for 412 yards wasnt returning kicks? He only got pulled off of that because they made him the starting runningback.
He cant catch balls either? (19 catches for 268 yards and a TD) Including 13 of those were First downs.

Every running back on teams with a good line are great, and the ones with garbage are busts.
No one could run for New Orleans this year until Jeff Faine was out, why is Reggie singled out?
Reggie played injured this year, was poorly utilized, and got smashed behind a poor offensive line. even in the games where he was dominating(seattle game) he would stop getting carries. Running backs do the most damage at the end of the game when a D is tired, I remember he had 17 carries for like 90 yards in that game at half, and ended with 19 carries.....
We don't have any sort of running rhythm, if the defense is getting gashed, he gets yanked, if he's getting stuffed in the backfield, he might get yanked, or he might get 5 more carries right into the teeth of the defense again.
Sean Payton is a great coach, but he has a real problem designing a running game.
The way he was used the second half of his rookie year was wonderful, and he flourished. He was put in the I formation behind Mike Karney more and he was running wild.
Why not run behind one of the best blocking fullbacks? especially when our main problem is our RB's getting blown up in the backfield. For whatever reason, he thinks Reggie is more effective from single back, which he might be if the line were more solid.

Reggie Bush has electrifying ability but he hasn't played to that ability in NFL. Adrian Peterson has been far more dynamic as an NFL player.

I didn't really pay attention to the Saints at the end of the season, but did he correct any of his happy feet in the backfield? Even if everything around him improves, he can't make any major improvements until he corrects his feet.
I still see him as Eric Metcalf 2.0...

So?? That doesn't make him electrifying.
He's not even the best versatile back in the league. Its Brian Westbrook. If anything Reggie should model his game after Westbrook.

Reggie cant model his game after westbrook, Westbrook gets most of his production from being a short speedy back do you realize how hard it is to find a 5'7 guy behind a line with all 6 footers. Bush is 6' it is much harder for him than westbrook.

There are plenty of short speedy backs who come in from college and don't do squat.
Size apart, Reggie is the identical clone of Westbrook in terms of skill set, but Westy is better and much more exciting to watch.
