The HOF class of 2013...whose in whose out

Favre, Strahan, Sapp, McNair, Ogden and Larry Allen. Those are the players who retired this offseason. Factor in players in past years and not everyone is a lock. So some may be "snubbed". It will be very interesting. Out of the 6 mentioned who is the most questionable 1st ballot HOFer. I would have to say Air McNair.

Thoughts?

Favre s locker should be in the 1st ballot.

I was watching Mike & Mike this morning, and they were talking about this topic, except with Junior Seau in place of McNair.

I would put in Favre, Stray, Allen, Seau and Ogden. Its really hard to leave Sapp out, though. He was the best DT of the 90s, and may be the best all-around DT of the last 25 years.

I would put Favre and Strahan as first ballot HOFers. Ogden and Sapp can both wait a year or two.

Larry Allen is a toughie because guards generally don't get that kind of recognition. Look at Bruce Matthews, the best offensive linemen of my lifetime--he had to wait a year. And some other recent retirees might cloud the picture: Will Shields, Willie Roaf, Tony Boselli. I'm not saying that's right or wrong, but it isn't insignificant.

:nonono:

Not only do I disagreee with the Bruce Matthews thing, I also dont think the other recent retirees have as big an effect on Allen. Those are definitely qualified guys and have outstanding merits, but Larry was a notch above the rest for a couple reasons. One being his versatility along the line when needed, he's the only one with a ring (and the others didnt even come close), and most importantly he blocked for the all-time rushing leader for the majority of time it took to get those yards).

Boselli I'm not sure is a HOFer. Yes he made the 90's all decade team, but he played basically 6 seasons. (his 7th season he played in only 3 games)

Injuries killed his HOF chances in my opinion.

I'd put Ogden before Strahan.
