I just read recently in a USA Today sports magazine that they think the Pats and Giants will repeat and play each other in superbowl 43. I think that is a little crazy to think because the giants run last year was basically luck dont get me wrong but im glad they beat the Pats. What do you think about this and give me who you think the 2 SB teams are gonna be this year. I think Pats and Cowboys

I'd say the chances for the Pats making it back to the Super Bowl are high, but I don't really like the Giants chances. They lost 3 very important starters on defense(Wilson, Strahan and Mitchell) that will be hard to replace.

It's as much about staying healthy for the playoffs and peaking at the right time as it is being great on paper in September. The year the Steelers won the Super Bowl they weren't in anybody's Top 10 teams until about Thanksgiving. The Giants were sort of like that last year.

I'm sticking to my Indy/Seattle prediction until I'm not.

I'm with Icness on this one. Indy and Seattle look really good right now.

I'd be surprised if the Patriots didn't make it back but I just don't see the Giants making it back. And lol at your comment that the Giants won the Super Bowl with all luck.

I'm personally feeling a Patriots v Saints Super Bowl. Maybe sub in Seattle/Piitsburgh/Colts are the other possible pairings in my opinion.

I simply don't see Dallas going to the Super Bowl. I feel like they're a very boom or bust kind of team. I'd say Divisional bye, but a loss in the Conference Championship at the latest. Inept coaching will kill a team.

I'm a little surprised at how unanimous everyone's opinion is of the Giants. It's basically, "Yeah, they have a chance, but I like 3-4 other NFC teams better". It reminds me of how people thought about the Cavaliers before last season, and that underappreciated group was two bad possessions from beating the mighty champion Celtics.

The Giants have no one like LeBron who the refs will bend over for and take it in the ass from.

I still think Eli is a bum. Though he does have a good amount of talent to work with next season...

Here are some of my random predictions for the upcoming season:

Teams
- Vikings will advance to the Championship game
- Chargers will make the playoffs (despite many seeing them degrade)
- Saints will be in the CS game
- Packers will miss the play-offs
- Bears will fight for the Wild-Card till the end
- Jaguars will be in the SB

Players
- Terell Owens will miss more than 3 games
- Tarvaris Jackson will be recognized as a very capable QB
- Favre will not touch an in-game football this year (or ever again)
- Eli Manning will not be the starter of the last season game of the Giants
- LT will pass the torch as the best RB in the league

1. gibril wilson is an average safety. nobody knew who he was until the raiders gave him that horrified contract that made gibril wilson grossly overpaid.

2. kawika mitchell sucks, he's not as good as people make him out to be. spags' system made him look good. he signed a 1 year deal for 1 million with the giants, you'd think for a guy who suppose to be a big part of the giants defense he would've gotten a better offer.

i'm happy with kenny phillips and KNOW he'll be better than gibril wilson simply because he's good when it comes man to man coverage. i'm also happy with a trio of guys fighting for the starting WILL between gerris wilkinson, chase blackburn, and danny clark.

I like Kenny Phillips too but he hasn't played an NFL down yet so how can you be completely sure he will be better than Gibril Wilson? And Kawika Mitchell really isn't bad, he has been solid with every team he has played for, and in regards to the people fighting for his spot we'll see if they are able to handle the starting job.

Here are Gibril Wilson's stats, in my opinion he is not just an average safety, he is actually a very solid starter who can be a Pro-bowl caliber player.

Those are very good looking stats for someone, who according to you, is just an "average" safety. If i had the chance to have him on my team as a starting safety i would jump at the chance seeing that he is only 26 and just about to enter his prime. I am not a Giants fan, but I live in NJ and i watch most of the Giants games and Gibril Wilson has played MOSTLY solid since becoming a starter for the Giants.

And as for Kawika Mitchell he is not as horrible as you make him out to be. He did put up decent stats under Spags, but his career years were not with the Giants, his year with the Giants was actually a down year compared to the last 2 or 3. So as much as you want him to be Mitchell is not really so much a product of Spags system, just look at the stats.

Tuck will more than pick up the slack left by Strahan as a starter, he's a better player right now than Mike. On pass rushing downs we move Kiwi into the front four to bring added pressure. Wynn is can be rotated in to play the run and Tollefson is a good pass rusher. We won't need to rely heavily on rotations this year anyways because both Tuck and Osi are young. Mitchell was good but not irreplaceable, it looks like either Danny Clark (who had some great seasons as a Raider a few years back) or the talented rookie Kehl will take over the weakside because Gerris keeps getting hurt. Wilson was the biggest loss of all of those guys moving forward but Phillips has been amazing in camp and looks like he'll start right away, he'll more than replace Wilson, we also brought in Sammy Knight and we're bringing back Butler (who the coaches like, he's got talent) and Johnson (who looks like he'll become a good safety).

In addition Fred Robbins is having the best TC of his career (better than his first year here when he was a major difference maker on the team). We also have Cofield at the opposite DT spot to stop the run and Alford to rotate in as a pass rusher off the bench. Kiwi is looking great at LB and he should be a major difference maker this year. Add him to Pierce and whoever wins the weakside battle and we should have a great LB corps; plus having DeOssie, Goff, Blackburn, and two of Clark/Kehl/Wilkinson on the bench gives us plenty of depth. For the first time in years I like our CBs with Ross and Webster as the starters and Thomas, Madison, Dockery and McQuarters (if he makes the team) as depth.

On offence we have a one of the best O-Lines (Diehl, Seubert, O'Hara, Snee, McKenzie as starters) and also with Olivea, Ruegamer, Whimper (forth round pick a couple of years ago (high upside project), having a good camp), Boothe, and Koets/Goddard (I don't think both will make the team) on the bench we have one of the deepest lines in the league. We have the deepest RB corps in the league with Jacobs, Bradshaw, Ward, Droughns, and Ware. Our WR corps have been improved as we add Manningham to Plax, Toomer, Smith and Tyree not to mention the outstanding camp Hixon is having (really looks like he's coming around as a WR) and Brandon London, another young guy having an outstanding camp, who may steal Sinorice's spot on the team. We should be fine with Boss at TE at least as far as receiving is concerned, he's gained some weight and seems to be improved as a blocker. With Eli not having to deal with the problematic attitudes and egos of years past (Tiki, Shockey) he will look more like the playoff version of Eli than the mid season version. We also have good depth at QB (not that I expect us to need it) with Andre' Woodson, Carr and Anthony Wright.

We're also returning our coaching staff which was fantastic last year (especially Spags).

The Giants are a very young and deep team with great coaching, I expect the Giants to repeat.

Yeah that's what I got although to me the Colts and Jags are replacable with each other(and I'm a Colts fan). To me the Jags and Colts are the 2 best teams in the league. If Manning misses a few weeks of the season(might be the case) I can see the Jags finally winning that division. Two great coaches in Del Rio and Dungy...The Jags have always been about the D(which has improved even more from last year) but few people realize how impressive of a defensive team the Colts have become..The Colts are built around defense now which is scary with the weapons they still have on offense. The Jags also improved on both sides of the ball. These are the 2 teams to beat in the AFC right now, these are the 2 teams with the least amount of weaknesses.
The Pats are 3rd IMO, on paper they look just as good as last year but didn't tweak their little quirks enough IMO, I don't blame them they went 18-1 with a loss in the Superbowl so I'm kinda stretching for reasons why they wont be as good as the Jags/Colts but at least they improved on 'paper.' Another thing is the AFC East will be alot tougher with the Jets and Bills. The Bills were playing meanungful games in December despite the crazy amount of injuries they suffered, that and they had the Losman/Edwards QB situation which is solved AND another solid draft. The Jets added Favre and totally rebuilt their offense.

In the NFC ,Seattle has the luxury of coasting again since no one in the NFC West got better even the slightest bit. St.Louis is rebuild mode, Arizona still doesn't have their QB starter set and San Fran blew the draft imo and didn't address any of their problems at all.

Dallas looks good but, really good but I just have a feeling they will blow it, this feeling isn't based on anything but nonetheless

The Giants have a shot but personally I think they'll finnish behind Philly and Dallas in their division.
