Surprised there isn't a thread on Young yet. Is he really that much of a headcase?

Young probably took a huge shot to the ego these last couple of days. He gets hurt, the team still wins, people are happy. I was watching highlights of the game on FOX or CBS and they didn't even mention Young getting hurt. Finally when they do bring it up people are saying the Titans are better off with Collins. If he wasn't a millionaire I may feel a little sorry for him. Huge bust.

He was booed during the game and people are thinking that he may have took that too hard and was on suicide alert, and hence the reason why Jeff Fisher was frantic.

I call BS.

And I also don't like how Fisher and the Titans are protecting Vince from criticism out in the public. They handled Steve McNair the same way, but hat was doable becasue Steve took criticism to heart and actually tried to improve. He took responsibility for his mess-ups. Vince, on the other hand, points to others for his mistakes and does not take responsibility.

Interesting thought J.Kim.

I think this is a very critical time for Young. He gets a chance to watch a competent passer run his offense, and by all indications Kerry Collins has been a more than willing mentor to him. If Vince can't absorb what Kerry does well, doesn't learn how to improve, isn't inspired to seize his team back, I think his Tennessee career might need to be over.
It's not whether you win or lose, it's how good you look playing the game

exactly what else could have possible happened?

young obviously doesn't take criticism well, which is probably why fisher does what he does. but to imply that said method doesn't work because young hasn't made an effort to improve or take responsibility? where do you even get that from asides rampant speculation? i think people are just overreacting from the mental image of fisher "babying" vince in last week's game after his second pick amidst a chorus of boos. i'd say last week's game is a pretty damn good indicator that he takes criticism to heart.

by "competent passer" you must mean "slightly less mediocre than vince". anyways, i like collins but this situation is not much different when young went down with a hamstring injury last season. even if young continues to perform below expectations, there's just too much money and commitment tied up in young for the titans to even think about another quarterback for another season or so.

Has he? I'm not so sure. I've watched him all throughout his career with Tennessee, and never once have I read about him taking up responsibility within the team, or taking the blame for the way certain outcomes happened.
Maybe I'm just spoiled by Steve McNair and his professionalism when he was with the Titans, but I just have not seen the similar qualities in Young.

Regardless, I retract my previous statement of how Fisher is handling this and how I didn't view Vince's problem seriously. I guess things really are serious. Hope Vince works out his problems, as it is only a game.
