The Derek Anderson experiment should be over now. The guy flat out sucks. I always knew he was overrated. He's so lucky that he had Edwards and Winslow bailing him out all last year. He's exposed now, and has the Browns at 0-3.
Anderson's numbers so far:
43/93 405 YD 2TD 5INT
4.35YPA
46.23%
.4 TDIR (TD/INT ratio)
If Romeo Crennel and Phil Savage have any idea of how to run a football team they would bench Anderception''s ass right now so Brady Quinn the savior can come and salvage the Brown's season as early as next week.
Agree/Disagree?

I hope they do start Quinn. It gives me antoher reason to blame our management for trading for Schaub when we could have had Brady while keeping our second round picks.

Damn, I was hoping this would be sort of like a send Brady Quinn to the Bears thread.

Coming from an avid Browns fan, and a DA fan...I hate to say it, but I agree. We're clearly on a downward spiral and we need some type of jump start. In DA's credit, his #2 wideout is Syndric flipping Steptoe and there have been some injuries along the oline throughout the season, but DA has came out absolutely flat this season, and another loss would put the season fully down the drain, as if it almost isn't there already. I have a feeling its coming, especially after Crennels statement that he'll evaluate "all positions" this week, and when questioned about why Quinn didn't enter the game at some point he mentioned something along the lines of "because DA got the majority of snaps this week in practice"...hmm....perhaps this week will change....

Crennel said today that Quinn will get more 1st team reps and that it's definitely a possibility he will play. His actual quote is a long, stammering, largely incoherent babbledybrook.
I was real surprised he didn't pull DA yesterday; he should have. When he talked about the league catching up to DA, I thought (as did most) that Romeo was setting up a QB change, but he has still been afraid to pull the trigger.
The only argument for DA is that they've played the Steelers, Cowboys, and Ravens--3 pretty strong defenses and all attacking 3-4 defenses, which DA has always struggled with.

I’d Is it that, or is it likely that the organization isn’t ready to admit to a very expensive mistake?

Romeo very much believes that Derek Anderson in 2007 is the only reason Romeo Crennel is still employed, so he's got intense loyalty to him. DA's deal is structured so that he's pretty easy to move after this season, so the financials aren't that awful. This is a team that paid their long snapper $9M last year, after all.
From what I gather the team is pretty divided on the whole thing. They just want to win no matter who is throwing the ball.

If you're a good qb, you're a good qb, simple. -- The Stelers and Ravens are 2 playoff bound teams, that if the Browns are hoping to get there, will have to play.

Chris Mortensen reports the Browns will start Derek Anderson in Week 4 against Cincinnati.
The Browns might be able to turn it around, but Derek Anderson will need to be able to win against the better competition, and be capable of changing things up against the better defensive teams.

Another possibility is that, after all the countless hours they have assuredly spent breaking down each guy's game, the Browns' staff has concluded that Quinn is not as good as DA. Hence they might think that, though DA has been bad thus far, Quinn might be even worse.
