Travis Henry to sign with Bengals countdown

Post#1 » by swede » Wed Oct 1, 2008 9:46 pm

It's going to be after he gets out of jail for funding a multikilo cocaine drug ring. Ooops.
The drug sales involved more than 5 kilograms of cocaine, worth $100,000, according to an arrest-warrant affidavit that referred to Henry as the "money guy" in an ongoing multi-state drug conspiracy.

Henry told one Billings, Mont., customer that he and his family were all "dead" if they didn't come up with $40,000 worth of cocaine lost when their home was robbed, according to the affidavit.

To make up for the stolen cocaine, Henry and Mack came up with a scheme to give another customer 2 kilograms of fake cocaine, or drywall, along with 1 kilogram of real cocaine, the document says.

Both Henry and Mack are in federal custody and appeared in U.S. District Court in Denver to hear the charges against them.

Henry and Mack read the indictments before the court hearing began, looked at each other, laughed and shook their heads.

What the hell is Travis Henry thinking?

He can go to jail for at least 8 if they do have him on consipiracy and interstate trafficking.....and if there is a death threat that's provable, he ain't gonna be out. Period.

What a sad waste of talent. Kids, please learn from this moron what NOT to do...

Maybe they'll put him in the same prison as Maurice Clarett. It looks like Travis Henry watched Scarface one too many times.

Don't knock people's intelligence, when you can use proper punctuation yourself.

The punctuation use was purposeful, as in "You really just did that. Wow. Why did you do that to yourself." Not a question, but a statement.

Sailor Jerry says otherwise.

BTW, AJ, you shouldn't post past your bedtime.

He is a tool no doubt, but to blame this on rap and movies is silly. Travis Henry is just a complete moron who threw away a lot of talent because of drug abuse. If any music were to be blamed I think it would be Marvin Gaye, I mean 11 kids with 11 different girls?! Wear a condom!!! Guaranteed he has HPV and if he doesn't have AIDS he soon will. What a complete waste of talent.

I need to ask a racial-based question and I sincerely ask it with zero negative racial connoitations.

What exactly is the fascination with the movie "Scarface" for young black males? I mean, Al Pacino ain't black, Robert Loggia is about as white as you can get, and it's a movie based on an Italian who rose thru the ranks in part by killing black people. I just don't get it, but when people talk about living like Scarface and it being the truth, someone needs to explain that to me. I know it's a very real thing too with some athletes and young people. I'm a middle-aged white guy and my favorite movies are Point Break and Die Hard, but I don't fashion my life after being a rogue tough cop hunting down bad guys and dispensing witty catch phrases. Although I do want the FBI to pay me to surf...

80 s mafia culture was similar in terms of mainstream popularity to today's gangsta culture, and my guess is they see it as old school version of today's tough guy gangsta attitude.

btw, tony was cuban.

Not to sound too "psychologist" here, but I see a few things:

-Power dynamic
-"Family" organizational structure
-Street savvy ("You can make it here, you can make it anywhere")
