Free Brady Quinn

This is ridiculous. We're approaching two full seasons of Quinn not getting the chance to start.

In October, the Browns turned down the Vikings offer of two 1st round picks for Quinn (by the way, the Vikings with Quinn this season make the playoffs). Other teams made competitive offers as well. This would be alright if they were planning to bench DA soon after, yet Anderson continues to get every snap.

Since he was only the 21st pick, his deal was largely structured around performance bonuses. Of course, he's never had a chance to reach any of them from the bench. So the Browns are just paying him a small amount to be a backup at this point when he's likely better than half the starting QB's in the league right now.

Crennel and Savage have really botched this one, to the point where I'd be surprised if either were back next year. I've heard Savage could stay in a reduced role, but I think there will be some big changes. Without starting a game, Quinn's infinitely more popular than them in Cleveland and the fans want to see him **** play already.

I think you're jumping the gun a little by calling Quinn better then half the starting QB's in the NFL and by saying the Vikings make the playoffs with him and all that. He hasn't started a game yet so it's a little early to say how good he is or isn't. All we have to go on is the preseason.

That having been said, I think they need to start Quinn too. DA has actually played decent of late but the Browns need a change. They need something or someone who will come in there and get them going again, and Quinn could be that guy.

ESPN's Trent Dilfer reports that Brady Quinn will start at quarterback for the Browns Thursday against the Broncos.

It's a short week to prepare, but Quinn gets the easiest matchup possible against Denver. He'll do well. Quinn can put up solid QB 1/2 stats the next few weeks (Denver, Buffalo, Houston), but his schedule gets much harder after that: Indy, Tennessee, and Philly. Sage Rosenfels should be a better pickup over the next month, but not this week.

Wow. Well that was fast. And Trent Dilfer works for ESPN?

Mr. Awesome, I'll admit to just purely speculating on all those things. I watched every game of his college career and thought he was one of the most NFL-ready QB's to come out of college in awhile.

Edit: Now it makes sense why he's just starting next week. If Quinn takes 55% of the snaps, he would've gotten a nice bonus. Now that it's impossible, he's allowed to play. That's a great way to treat your supposed franchise QB. What a cheap organization.

Yea I hope that's not the reason GYBE, but I wouldn't put it passed the Browns. I also agree with you btw about Quinn being NFL ready, I just don't want to jump the gun. Even though Anderson has been playing fairly well of late, this is good move for the Browns. They need someone to come in and provide a spark and get that team playing again. Hopefully, Quinn can pull that off.

Bull. I say this is a conspiracy by the NFL. NFL Networks first thursday game, looked like crap. Broncos vs Browns, ugh. My theory is that the Goodell called up crennell and told him to start Brady Quinn for ratings sake.

Seriously though, this does make that game a lot better. Can't wait to watch Brady in action.

The moment has finally come. I am very interested in seeing how Quinn performs against a pretty bad defense.
