Oakland captured the NFL’s attention when it fired Lane Kiffin and hired Tom Cable. Now it is about to do it again — in a far more stunning fashion.
The Raiders are on the verge of releasing Pro Bowl cornerback DeAngelo Hall on Wednesday, according to multiple NFL sources.
If they do — and the team was planning on doing it Tuesday before it held off — Oakland will have paid Hall $8 million for eight games and Atlanta a second-round pick for the cornerback’s services.
Oakland is planning to waive him now so as to avoid paying Hall the $16 million worth of injury-guaranteed bonuses in his contract. It is too much of a risk for a Raiders team that still needs to do more rebuilding.
...WOW!!!
where will he end up?
my guess: pats

why the pats?
But WOW!!!
Cowboys will pick him up. They are in need of corner. Let's see if jones rolls the dice again.

It would have to be the pats..but Can his EGO handle what the Pats would be willing to offer (assuming they wont pay alot)
He is such a waste of talent, I have always said he was more style than substance..

All-American in college, top 10 pick, NFL's fastest man, Pro Bowler, meltdown, bitter break-up, 7 year $70 million contract, beatdown by his former team, unemployed...and he's only 24.
He's got all the talent in the world but he doesn't have the mental make-up to live up to that potential. He looks destined for the Cowboys, though. Him and TO on the same team.

Yep, future Cowboy. Him, TO, Tank, and Adam making it rain.

Hell, I wouldn't be mad at him signing with the Falcons if he wants to return punts and play backup. Of course neither of those will ever happen. There will be some team that thinks they can change his ways. Maybe someone can...

Would the Saints look his way? Their secondary can use a boost.

It would only get worse with Deangelo Hall.
He's just putrid at staying with his man despite having the ability to stick to his man and cover him pretty well.
Of course, what also does play into the factor of Hall looking so bad is the fact that Asomugha is so damn good. Opposing quarterbacks have no choice BUT to target the opposite side of the field because Asomugha is so good. And therein lies the problem that even though Hall is already bad enough, his problems are magnified.

Patriots prefer crappy cornerbacks without the ego, thank you.

Per his agent, they've already talked to the Texans and Rams. And his release is not the done deal it's being made out to be. Yet.

The Raiders have only a few pieces worth keeping - AwesomeWahh, Morrison, Richardson, Howard, McFadden, Russell, Miller, Schilens... other than that? Cut em all... won't make much difference...

I sure would. We already have a big ego corner that is average at best. We don't need another overrated corner.

He's digging his own grave and yet he continues to profit off being a head case. I've spoken with him a couple times and he's always come off as a very shy guy during both occasions. I guess he becomes a different person once he's on the field and around his teammates.
On a positive note he has a great charity. So, I can say one good thing about him that will continue to carry on.

Is that the “Help Mediocre Receivers Get Multi-Year Deals by Having a Career Day Off Me” charity?

I feel bad for any corner than lines up opposite Awesome-Wah (aka the greatest cornerback in football). Whats the stat again? He's only had 8 or 9 completed passes against him? Haha.
But yeah, DeAngelo hall is garbage. What a horrible trade, but not surprising coming from our **** team. **** you, Al Davis.

Icness, any idea of where he's headed?

I can't see the pats signing this guy. We were interested in him before he went to oakland. Not after the debacle.
But, could you imagine if he does go to the pats. DA SCHWAB SUCKS. Randy Moss Part 2. Al Davis ugly little face would be fuming.

They just officially waived him. Somewhere Bobby Petrino smiles...
Haven't heard more since last night on where he might go. My early guess would be the Rams because they play more zone and he really doesn't like man coverage.
I've known Hall since he was a freshman at VT and in all that time he's always had one chronic weakness: he's not mentally tough enough, nor his he self-aware enough to get tougher.
