The NFL really needs to go to the NCAA format for overtime....no player or fan wants to see a game end in a tie....

Um, wow. When I first heard this I thought for sure he was joking, but after watching him it sure looks like he actually didn't know. Apparently a few of his teammates didn't know either. I knew most athletes were stupid, but I had no idea they could be this stupid. Sad.

I don't think a player not knowing there were ties is that dumb. That was the first tie in 6 years. McNabb has been in the league for a long time, though. He should have definitely known, but he wasn't alone. Hell, I don't even think Andy Reid knew. That's much worse.

How could you not know? Does he not follow football? I think it's absolutely inexcusable.

A lot of players weren't big NFL fans growing up and all they know is multiple OT. They should know, but I don't think it's that shocking that a lot of younger guys woudn't know. Like I said, that was the first tie in 6 years.

Not really close. I'm not sure why you're taking so much offense to it. Most athletes are dumb for the same reason that most scientists aren't that athletic. They've been focusing on their sport for the majority of their life, not on schooling. Of course they're not going to be that well educated.

With the way he was playing all game you could make the argument that he wasn't all there in the noggin that day.

Bull, he knows there are ties. Because if he is claiming that he didn't know until the officials came over and said it's over, tie ball game, then he is lying. I mean, they called a hail mary with the remaining seconds. If they all run down field, donovan could have scrambled for a first down or more. He wouldn't just chuck it up there for it to get picked.

Why would he lie? He's being crucified by pretty much everyone right now.

I think it was to make a statement to the nfl without getting fined.

If he went right out and said, "this nfl system is a joke, you can't have ties" the league might have come down on him.

But in his statement, he made it sound like he couldn't believe there are ties, even college and high school doesn't have ties.
