Cowboys: Most 'dysfunctional' team in the NFL?
Are the Cowboys the most 'dysfunctional' team in football, especially with all of the different personalities on that team, led by TO? Or, does the title still remain with such teams as the Bengals, Lions and Browns?

i doubt they're the most dysfunctional team, they just get the most publicity, plus espn's been trying to paint TO in a bad light the second he signed w/us, which leads to them completely overblowing everything he and this team do

Re: Cowboys: Most 'dysfunctional' team in the NFL?
TO has been on mostly good behaviour since he's been with the Cowboys and you know people in the media (especially ESPN) have been waiting and waiting for him to do something so they could jump all over him.
The current situation has been a prime example of people over blowing things related to TO and saying "see we knew this would eventually happen". My main problem is how no one wants to look at the current problems by saying you know what TO might have a point.
It was an in-house matter to start with which should have never been leaked to the media. If you have someone leaking stuff to the media then in my opinion that person should shoulder the blame for the drama, not TO. Second of all it wasn't only TO that went to Garret but Roy Williams and Crayton went together to say they want a bigger part of the offense. Then people dig up these ridiculous "thrown to" and "targeted" stats which don't account for the fact that many passes thrown to the guys aside from Witten are a bigger risk, and usually uncatchable. Not only that but many of the other players are behind Owens as well, which wouldn't have been the case if in fact he was as despicable as some make him out to be.

It's definitely Washington. Especially after that loss to the Bengals. I was at the Raptors game so I didn't see it - WTF happened? I had Washington in that one. They can forget the playoffs now, that's for sure.

You can laugh now but we were seriously playing like the best team in the league.
Don't know what happened, but my guess would be that Jim Zorn was figured out by the league and hes too stupid to make adjustments. Our offense has scored 11 points PPG over the last six games. That's worse than the Lions.

Granted, TO has always found his way to complaining about his touches. He did it AGAIN this past week. I don't see ESPN trying to spin anything on it, especially with TO's history of his touches.

Re: Cowboys: Most 'dysfunctional' team in the NFL?
where did TO complain about his touches? you mean how roy williams and pat crayton went to O-coordinator jason garrett complaining about the wr's roles in the offense? this was later presented as TO bitching to management. there's a reason owens doesnt talk to ed werder, b/c he's constantly spouting bullsh*t about him. i find it hard to trust werder w/his constant use of unnamed source or player that did not want to be mentioned and there's a reason he talks crap about a guy like keyshawn b/c he took his job. even the witten/owens thing they act as if there was an actual fight, when it appears to be all verbal
but even when everyone says everything is fine w/this team nobody believes it, b/c no one wants to, b/c no one wants a happy ending for this group of "bad boys"
it's been statistically proven that ever since TO got here, you get him the ball the cowboys win the game, we're undefeated in games where he has over 80 yards the cowboys are 17-3 (and those 3 losses came in owens 1st year here)

Re: Cowboys: Most 'dysfunctional' team in the NFL?
The whining and moaning of TO needs to be done in private and behind close doors. -- What he did after the 1st INT on the sidelines @ one of the asst coaches doesn't bode well for his image, and this whole "dysfunctionality" of his persona of ME ME ME.
You have a point about when the TO gets the ball, they win games. But, there are ways to do it, and not....

Anyway, I don't think the Cowboys are the most dysfunctional, they just give the media the most to work with.

Re: Cowboys: Most 'dysfunctional' team in the NFL?
regardless of where TO does it it's going to get reported, he's the single most covered guy in sports, his whole "ordeal" has receieved more attention in the sportsworld then the plaxico burress gun shooting (not nationally but in the sports world)
here's what owens said about what happened on the sidelines last week:
"That's my man," T.O. said of Sherman. "There is no animosity. I was venting to Ray.
"There again, they are always want to go to things that happened in the past like things are still going on. Ray and my relationship can't be broken. All I was doing was venting to Ray about some of the things that were going on."
as for what you have to say about TO's image, there's nothing he can do, he could be a saint nobody gives a damn, he's been a fantastic teammate for 3 years now but no one wants to hear about it b/c of things in the past. like TO this past offseason saved a guy from getting hit by a car but you didnt hear a word about that (and that was at the damn espy's too, espn loves pimping out there own sh*t)

^you hit it right on the head and the same thing i've said, his past actions only make every little thing that much more scrutinized. -- no one in their right mind thought he was saying anything positive on that little escapade on the sidelines last week, I surely didn't.
btw, you mentioned something about Keyshaun Johnson and Ed Werder, what was that all about?

Re: Cowboys: Most 'dysfunctional' team in the NFL?
keyshawn johnson is constantly talking smack about TO, the main reason was b/c when TO got here keyshawn was ran outta town b/c we didnt need both of them, keyshawns jealous b/c of that
ed werder covers the cowboys but anytime he tries to adress TO with a question he just ignores it (rightfully so) b/c he tries to turn anything he says against him
not sure if you thought there was some rift between johnson and werder b/c there isnt
but what you said your last post was that him yelling isnt good for his image, there's nothing he can do that makes his image look good, like why does the camera have to point to TO 30 times a game on the sideline?

Up until week 5-8, we were consistently in the top 5 of majority of the power rankings. Nobody could have known that Zorn would prove to be the 2nd coming of Norv Turner.
