Who collapsed the most out of the Broncos or the Jets?
The Jets were 8-3 after beating Tenessee and New England and lost to Denver, SF, and Seattle and after what people thought were gonna make some noise in the play-offs are not out of it.
Denver on the other hand led their horrid division the whole year and probably needed 9 wins to claim the 4th seed in the play-offs, and after a poor run of games they are now out of it as well.

^That's what I was thinking too. After being 9-3 and challenging Carolina for the division, losing to Oakland to miss the playoffs is pretty bad.
How 'bout Washington? 6-2 and then the mirror image. That loss to the Bengals was horrifying.

It's Tampa. I was watching NFL network and they showed a stat showing numbers from Tampa's 1st 12 games, then their last 4 games. It was like this:
first 12 games:
points per game- 23
points allowed per game: 15
last 4 games-
points per game- 22
points allowed per game- 31
Its funny because is right before the stretch of those 4 games monte kiffin the Defensive coordinator announced he was leaving after this season. after that the defense proceeded to allow double the ppg.

The Skins had an epic collapse.
6-2 in the first half. 2-6 in the second half. Losing to the Bengals, Rams and Niners ughhhhhhhhhh. We scored less points and less TD's than the Detroit Lions...

You can't forget about the Cowboys! They Started 4-1, then lost 3/4 of the next games and then lost their final 2games!!

The Bucs and Skins had the biggest collapses. Tony Romo and Brett Favre just choked on the biggest piece of chicken and fish they could find.

3rd year in a row a florida based team has knocked out a ny based team

2 years running the Marlins knocked the Mets out of post-season contention the last day of the season.
Most recently the Phins knocking out the Jets

Technically that Jet game meant nothing to us. With both the Ravens and Pats winning, the game became irrelevant.

I like the Niners under Singletary and have them to win the NFC West next year. The other two... yeah, you're on your own.
The Cowboys didn't collapse, their schedule just got tougher. (Similar to what happened with the Redskins, but with no embarrassing Bengals loss.) When they were 8-4, I was calling no playoffs and either 8-8 or 9-7.

The Skins didn't collapse. I wouldn't say the Bills did either. I don't even know if you can call the Cowboys a team that collapsed.
The Bucs and Jets on the other hand? Collapse.

I think Denver will be remembered more than anyone else. It got Mike Shanahan fired.

The Broncs were the first team in NFL history to be up three games with three games to play and not make the playoffs. I guess that would have to be considered a collapse.

Exactly. The Carolina game was understandable, they're simply a much better team, the Buffalo game we definitely should have won, and probably would have if the braindead coaches grew some balls and kicked deep to at least give our defense a chance of defending a field longer than 60 yards.
If the Chargers game had been close, it wouldn't have been so bad, but god damn our defense is historically awful to show up to such a meaningful game and play the way they did. Disgusting. 10 new starters on defense are necessary, maybe 9 because DJ might not really be as bad as he's looked if he has actual NFL talent around him.
