NFL.com Information

Last meeting
In a battle of two defensive heavyweights, Pittsburgh pulled out a 13-9 victory after Ben Roethlisberger directed a 12-play, 92-yard drive that ended with a controversial touchdown to Santonio Holmes with less than a minute left in the game.

Streaks
The Steelers have won three of the past four matchups to claim a 16-10 overall series lead. Check out the historical matchup of the last five games between the teams.

Last week
The Ravens relied on their defense again, forcing three turnovers to knock off the No. 1-seed Tennessee Titans, 13-10. ... Willie Parker rushed for 146 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Steelers past the San Diego Chargers, 35-24.

Keep your eye on ...
Kicking at Heinz Field: The Steelers and Ravens typically play very close games -- the two meetings this year were decided by a combined seven points -- and field goals often make the difference. Pittsburgh's Heinz Field is notoriously tough on kickers, and whoever is better able to handle the conditions could give his team an edge.

Playmaking linebackers: The Ravens' trio of Bart Scott, Ray Lewis and Terrell Suggs comprise one of the league's best linebacking units, but the Steelers' foursome of James Harrison, Lawrence Timmons, LaMarr Woodley and James Farrior might be even better. Expect both teams' linebackers to be right in the middle of the action all day.

A rookie tale: In 2004, Roethlisberger had one of the best rookie seasons ever for a quarterback when he led the Steelers to the AFC Championship Game. Baltimore's Joe Flacco is having a great rookie season in his own right and looks to one-up Roethlisberger on Sunday by beating the Steelers to get to the Super Bowl.

Did you know?
This is the first time since 1999 that two teams from the same division will square off in the conference championship. ... The Ravens rushed for a season-low 50 yards last week against the Titans. ... Ravens coach John Harbaugh became the fifth rookie head coach to win two playoff games. This week he could join the three-win club, which already includes Bill Callahan, George Seifert, Red Miller and Don McCafferty. ... The Steelers make their fourth conference championship appearance in the last eight seasons.

I called this from the start of this playoffs. It's the toughest game to pick. It'll be a well-played defensive battle... a true toss-up. I'll take the Ravens simply because I don't think any one team can beat them three times in a season, but I wuld put all of $0.00 on that pick and I might change it. This game will be decided by less than 7 either way.

Two teams that truly hate each other, and one of the NFL's best and biggest rivalries. I can't imagine either team scoring more than 14 points, to be honest.

I'll say this, though -- whoever wins this game wins the Championship.

No Beagle love? I think if Philly wins, the Superbowl will be a great game. If Arizona does, as much as I say this every week, I don't think the Cardinals have much of a chance against either of these teams.

This will be an amazing game. I've been cheering for the Ravens almost all season so it would be awesome if they could get into the superbowl. Playing in this environment is going to be really hard for a rookie quarterback against the best defence in the NFL. All I can hope for is a good game and i'll be happy.

tough game, very similar teams that could come to ben vs. flacco for the key of the game.

also, i think that the ravens' defense is a little better.

From everything I'm hearing, the Ravens will be without Rolle for the Steelers game.

Suggs is highly doubtful.

Ugh....

I don't even wanna say anything. My heart says 31-0 Ravens. My head says 31-0 Ravens.
First the federal government borrowed money; then gave the money to Bank of America; then I borrowed some of that money from Bank of America and gave it to the federal government; then the federal government gave the money back to Bank of America.

Ray Lewis and Ed Reed will not let the Steelers get anything over 13 points, and i can see the ravens getting somewhere from 13-17.

The Ravens D plays with more passion and that's why i think they will win the game.

Tough game to pick. Been rooting for the Ravens this postseason, so it continues this week as well. I think they find a way to win against a very very tough Steelers team.

Steelers 11, Ravens 10. Yes, this will be the second ever game in NFL history to finish 11-10. Yes, the Steelers will have won both.

In all honesty (and coming from a die-hard Ravens fan), we won't win if both Suggs and Rolle can't play.

If one of the two plays, I'd say we have a 25% chance of winning.

If both play, it's a 50/50 shot for both teams.

There's a reason the Titans were able to kill Baltimore with those short passes all game long....because Suggs was injured for a large part of the game.

With Rolle out, our CB tandem is Fabian Washington and Frank Walker.....That's basically asking for Hines Ward to walk 2 touchdowns into the end-zone.

Ravens 13
Steelers 10

Like Miller said, whoever wins this game wins the Super Bowl. Neither one of the NFC teams stands a chance.

I also think the winner here has a huge advantage in the superbowl. But so did the patriots last year.

Also I will enjoy watching this game played in the cold.

Either team I have over the Cards.. I think Steelers have the advantage today, but I certainly wouldn't be suprised if the Ravens won.
