Richland County (WLTX) -- The 27-year-old wife of a New England Patriots defensive lineman was arrested Thursday and charged with two counts of second degree lynching in connection to an assault at a New Year's Eve party in Richland County.

Authorities arrested Tanya Seymour, wife of NFL player and former Lower Richland standout Richard Seymour, sometime Thursday because they say she is connected to an assault at a home on Fontana Drive.

Deputies say the incident began after two victims, who told investigators that they had been invited to the party, were engaged in a verbal altercation with an unknown number of people.

Investigators say the two victims were assaulted by a group of people, sometime after 12:30 a.m. on January 1, and they told deputies the group "jumped" them.

EMS responded to the scene and they determined that one of the victims suffered from a sprained wrist.

Lynching? Don't hear that one every day.

Hope everything gets sorted out, I suppose.

Lynching=basically more than 1 person beating somebody up. They should really change the name of that.
