Like Your Mother, NFL Puts Safety First

Post#1 » by bpayton34 » Wed Mar 25, 2009 8:41 pm

Things that aren’t a secret: Football is a dangerous sport. When retirees brains don’t function past 40, it’s kind of a serious thing. As such, the NFL is, in some respects, is trying to limit/curb some of the dangerous on-field play to help quell injuries. This isn’t a new initiative, but this year it gained more steam.

Here are some of the new rules put into place;

Wow no more wedges on kickoffs. More penalties called for sure.

I hate some of these new rules. I mean you cant blind side some one any more. ( Hines Ward rule.) I mean comon there just taking the fun out of football. Isnt the point of the sport to get hurt? lol

I don't like the wedge rule- i don't really see the possibility of a serious injury happening if 2 guys are coming at you instead of 4- Its not like all 4 guys can hit you
