ESPN - The Giants have released wide reciever Plaxico Burress.

The team made the announcement on Friday, citing the receiver's legal woes.

A gun possession case against Burress was adjourned Tuesday until June in the state of New York.

I'm kinda surprised it took this long

If he's not suspended for the year, I wonder how hard the Bears pursue him.

The Bears released Tank Johnson for basically the same reason the Giants released Plaxico. I would be surprised if the Bears pursued him.

I doubt the Bears are interested...Tank Johnson...Cedric Benson...I do not think they are ready for another one of those guys. I could see Lovie being interested...but Angelo is flying high right now he is not ready to take a big risk.

When Cutler is a bit more of a vet and when the team is more established then you may look to a problem personality receiver if that puts you over the top.

Hey dude, Redskins still suck. It's ok.

As for the receiving corps, don't worry about us. We'll address it and very well might I add.

The Giants will find a suitable replacement via draft.

I wonder who will have the guts to take a shot at Plax... coughJerryJonescough.

Jaguars would like to say hi. But without Plax and Amani, the Giants do give the Jags a run for their money as the worst WR group in the NFL.

Our best Wide Reciever is Devin Hester and second best is Earl Bennet(Who? Exactly.)

Just wondering if you know who the Jaguars starting WRs are. At least Hester is a known playmaker.

Winning winnable games would look good in Carolina.

Whoever it is may as well give Burress a deal. He hasn't suffered physically.

the chances of him coming to detroit is pretty legit i believe.
for one, they NEED to replace Roy Williams
for two, he went to Michigan State University
for three, that would make the Lions top 3 receivers the biggest and prolly the most fierce trio in the league.

only hopes my friends.. only hopes

He is in very deep negotiations with the Bears, pretty much a done deal. This is from a very reliable source.
