Best news I've heard since I found out my barber was bringing Playboys back to the shop.

I hope your barber is around 80 years old - what if he gets momentarily distracted?

Here's the Madden press release:

If you saw my hair you'd wonder why I go there at all. I'm in the midst of a bad hair lifetime.

I can't believe some people will be upset by this news of Madden going away. If you know football well, you won't miss him one iota. His prime was 15 years ago and it got real stale.

How I will miss your incoherent, idiotic ramblings you call commentary, John.

I hope Al Michaels doesn't retire also.

I'll miss Madden despite him mostly stating the obvious and all the Favre commentary.

Exactly, primetime football will never be the same. All of you seem to think he was stupid, but there are not many commentators better than him. Joe Buck and Al Michaels are the only 2 i like better than Madden.

Yeah how do you like Joe Buck? I wish Aikman power bombs him through the set one day.

You sir are from a different world than me 8-)

Cris Collinsworth is taking over for Madden. Decent choice, but I would have preferred Dan Dierdorf or Boomer Esiason. Of course I like Tony Kornheiser, so what do I know...

One can only hope he'll spend retirement writing several dissertations on the "football move" and scoring inside the pylon.

Yeah, he was a pretty bad color guy but he was fun to make fun of and still not nearly as annoying as a few of my least favorite baseball analysts. Best of luck, John.

Joe Bucks is terrible. John Madden on the other hand is a legend. I always liked John. Never had a problem with him. So long Madden, I'll miss'ya.
