So who would you prefer on your team if you had to choose between the 2?

Put Steve Smith's acumen and attitude in Braylon's body and you've got yourself a perennial Pro Bowler.

I would take Edwards just because he has shown he can be an impact #1 WR and legit playmaker, even if for only about a third of his career. Look at what he did to the Giants and Eagles last year even in the midst of a lousy season. Smith might be more reliable but Steve Smith ain't ever gonna have a performance like that.

Big play guys like Edwards are harder to find, especially with that size.
A guy like Smith might be reliable, but you have to give a guy a chance. Look at a Chrebet, Welker, Mason etc.

whats the money ball in big games? the deep 50yard bomb? nope. when the chips are on the line, when the game is tight, nip and tuck, the money ball is that little in route that doesnt shoot for 5, 10 or 20 yards. but its the route that gets the first down. the ball that keeps the drive alive. the ball that demoralizes a defense because they gotta go at it for another 4 downs. that is when you go to mr. reliable on your team. the guy who has no fear of the situation or surroundings across the middle.

STEVE SMITH is one of the few who can come up with that ball. a pass that at times is inches close to the dirt, but he picks it up and rolls for a couple more yards and has the defenders yellin at themselves for not watching that guy. THATS STEVE SMITH!

the big money ball aint bein thrown to braylon. give him a big bomb here or there to gain ground. but when the money is on the line, STEVE SMITH is the man. this is the reason why the giants said yes to everyone else, but no way to letting steve smith go.

Noone here is hating on Steve Smith, not one bad thing has been said about him. We recognize that he is a good receiver, but everybody also recognizes that Edwards is the better receiver.

What happens when you have a team of Steve Smith's? When the chips are on the line and you have no WR that a team respect and it goes into that zone or jams Smith at the line? He is not going to go nowhere. Plus who knows what Smith can even do on himself, the last playoffs he had 2 catches, lost a fumble.

Steve Smith is a solid WR, but lets not overlook the fact that since he is from USC and that's what it comes down to.

At least your still able to run the ball because there won't be 8 in the box every time. Since when has Edwards ever been known as a prima donna? So if we look at Edwards one bad season, then Ill observe the fact that Steve Smith is injury plagued and never sees the field. The one year that Edwards actually had a capable offensive line and QB, he produced monster numbers. Smith even in the perfect system for him, still can only manage 36 yards a game. Throw on top of that that Eli is clearly taking a liking to the other Wolverine Manningham this off-season, that has to hurt.

At this point this thread is useless because of the Bill O'Reilly outlook you have on things. Keyshawn had an ego right? How did that work out for him. How did it work out for Mike Williams? See putting the spin on thing is irrelevant.
