ESPN Hires Matt Millen

Post#1 » by HMFFL » Thu May 7, 2009 7:47 pm

Former NFL player, executive and broadcaster Matt Millen is joining ESPN's football coverage as a game and studio analyst.

Millen will work as a college football game analyst and will contribute to ESPN's NFL studio coverage throughout the year, appearing on "Monday Night Countdown," "NFL Live," "SportsCenter," ESPNEWS and other programs.

As part of Millen's NFL studio responsibilities, he will travel to the site of each week's "Monday Night Football" game, where he will appear on "Monday Night Countdown" and the pre- and postgame editions of "SportsCenter."

"Matt will play a major role in our NFL and college football coverage and fans will enjoy hearing the strong, candid opinions which have made him one of the absolute best analysts in the business," said Norby Williamson, ESPN executive vice president, production.

Replacing Emmitt Smith with Matt Millen. I didn't think it was possible to get someone dimmer than the rushing king, but ESPN never ceases to amaze.

At least Emmitt Smith was comedic relief...

From Rush Limbaugh to Irving to Emmitt to Millen.

ESPN sure can pick 'em.

He's been on like every radio show known to man the past few days and he's still got his "media darling" persona working. Great broadcaster, terrible GM. He's even been a little open about some of his errors, so perhaps he can provide different insight in that regard. Unlike, say, Dan Marino, who would have you believe he's Jesus, Buddha, and Mohammad all rolled into one.
It's not whether you win or lose, it's how good you look playing the game

Millen, really? 1st it was Herm Edwards, now Millen. -- Couldn't they have gotten a successful personality?

Watch, next year they will hire recently fired HC of the Denver Broncos (w/ever his name is).

All I want to see is him have to do ONE appearance at a Lions game. And if they put him in a room with Charles Rogers, Mike Williams, and maybe Joey Harrington...all the more better. Or surrounded by Lions fans...either way.

Uh, I don't get all the wisecracks, Millen is pretty widely known as a damn good broadcaster.
