Every site you can think of is reporting the Rams are for sale and that the Rosenbloom family is desperate enough that they will not force new owners to keep the team in St. Louis. The prospect of the inheritance tax is killing them.
Wouldn't it be so freaking ironic if they wound up back in LA? I think the NFL would rather they go somewhere else (San Antonio? Monterrey? Toronto?) than face the prospect of a less-than-triumphant return to LA. Even when they were good in the late 70s they barely half-filled their stadium.

Re: Rams on the move?
Oh man.. a move back to LA gives me goosebumps. A team a grew up watching and loving, there is still a lot of Ram faithful here. I have to assume that there is a chance for them to succeed if they are not run by the evil Georgia. ( yes, I am bitter) LA Rams is music to my ears.
Cheers.

Not gonna lie, from time to time I forget the St. Louis Rams still exist, which is a shame given how great and fun they were to watch earlier in the decade

Their primary owner died. When you inherit large assets or sums of money, you have to pay a very high tax rate on those. In this case, because the Rams aren't cash, they have to come up with that cash to pay the tax bill and they are alleged to be having major trouble doing so. There were some other things that Georgia Frontiere left behind that they owe as well. I don't know the particulars but they have to come up with something like $90M cash to pay the inheritance tax and that's more than they've got squirreled in their sock drawers.
Personal experience: My wife's family has some "old" money, mainly in the form of property. When her grandfather died, her dad nearly had to file bankruptcy to pay the tax bill because the property and houses couldn't sell. Had to sell a vintage 67 Mustang and a boatload of stocks to pay it off.

so the dumb broad left LA so that the team can be lost due to some inheritance tax?

The Rams should move. St. Louis is a baseball town.

Ah I didn't realize they lost their primary owner. $90M cash is huge. That's like buying half a team nowadays...

Seeing as Trump owed Deutsche over $30M in bank loans and one of his companies (Trump entertainment something) filed for Chapter 11 recently, I highly doubt he sneezes on $90M.
Gates, maybe, but he's only in the top 5 of the richest man in the world

$90M is HUUUGE in today's economy. Most owners (unless they are reallly passionate about the team and have a REAAALLY passionate fanbase, neither of which St. Louis has), would balk at the thought of paying $90M up front, even if they have it.
