RIP: Steve McNair

Post#1 » by HMFFL » Sat Jul 4, 2009 8:40 pm

Steve McNair has been found dead due to a fatal gunshot wound to the head, according to Nashville police.
Newschannel Five in Tennessee has the news first. McNair was found in downtown Nashville. Police said it looked like a double homicide. A woman was also found dead on the premises. We'll update more news when we have it, but it's a heart-stopping tragic story on our nation's birthday. Our thoughts and wishes go out to McNair's family. www.rotoworld.com

This is rough. The fact that one of the toughest guys to ever play the game goes out like this is a damn shame.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (SI.com) -- Former Tennessee Titans quarterback Steve McNair has been shot to death in an apparent double homicide, according to several Nashville news reports.

McNair, 36, suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head in downtown Nashville, according to the reports. A female victim also was reported slain.

McNair played in the NFL from 1995 to 2007, most of that with the Titans, who drafted him third overall out of Alcorn State while they were still the Houston Oilers. He passed for 174 touchdowns and 31,304 yards and was a three-time Pro Bowl selection.

Wow that is awful. One of my favorite QB's to watch, he always seemed like a very nice humble guy.

Sad news, but I doubt its random kill, athletes quite often cross the path of gangs for whatever reason.
Who would win one-on-one in HORSE?

Bird: Nobody beats me in H-O-R-S-E. Besides, Magic cant shoot.

Magic: Larry, you'd have no chance against me one-on-one. I've got too many ways to beat you. Plus, as slow as I am, I'm still faster than you.

The first jersey I ever bought was of McNair. The guy was more than an athlete, he was a great human being. It's a sad day in sports history- McNair was one of the greatest athletes in his era.

May he rest in peace.

Damn, RIP to those two. Him and George gave some great memories growing up. Wish his and her family the best.

McNair was my favourite player for so long, this is so sad and it just doesn't seem real.
