The Cheif and Matt Cassel have came to an agreement on a new long term deal that will keep him in KC for the next 6 years...to be honest this guy aint worth this kind of money he had on good season on the Pats who have one of the best OL and one of the best defences in the league. So he had one good year and hes already making the same amount if not close to the amount of a Drew Bress, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Tony Romo, Big Ben...i just think this is crazy that KC is kinda just throwing their money....but who knows mabe Cassel will perform well.

i think he'll be solid, not as good as he was in NE obviously but the contract is a little much i would say
given the sample size of his work, and the uncertainty moving forward

Almost as bad of an investment as Tony Romo's contract was to the Cowboys.

The guaranteed base is $28M but will escalate to $41+M will some pretty easily attainable incentives. It's pretty similar to the deal Matt Stafford got. I'll take Stafford over Cassel, thank you.

Good thing Thigpen is better than Cassel.

Based on what they did last year with what they had around them, I'd take Thigpen with very little hesitation. And that's almost ignoring the relationship I have with his agent

The Chiefs are stupid. They should have kept him franchised him this year to see what he could do on their crappy team. I'm not a fan of Matt Cassel's. He underachieved with TWO stud recievers and the best coach in the game.

I really don't see much of a hike in talent from Thigpen to Cassell. I thought Thigpen looked good, but hey, I'm the guy who thinks Orlovsky did a great job in Detroit.
