Madden 2010

Post#1 » by TNBT » Wed Aug 19, 2009 8:49 pm

I just saw this game in the store yesterday, and I am going in today to buy a copy. My question is to those of you who have played the game - what did you think of it? Is it worth getting? What are some positives and negatives? Any info would be great.

Hmmm... that sounds OK. I've played some of the Madden games within the last 5 years and I thought they were pretty good, so this one might be even better.

It's light years better than 08 and 09.

I'm having a tough time with pass defence though. Anyone else?

ATN:

Packers Board has a group of guys that are gonna start an online franchise. Plenty of open spots. Check in on the thread and leave your PSN name. Should be pretty cool.

Anyone else draft "Patrick Chewing," he's a Free Safety and 84 overall so look out for him. Also the first time I saw his name I couldn't stop laughing. I literally laughed for 73 seconds.

Online franchise or regular franchise? I've forced some fumbles (I suck at the new fumble recovery system though) & grabbed a few ints. What team are you using?

Regular, the thing is I've had 2 INTs with the Texans and they're both by me(Demeco Ryans) the rest of the team just can't seem to catch a pick or force a fumble even if it's laid to them on a plate.

Well, my D has dropped plenty of picks but most were deflections & if linemen & lbs actually caught every deflection in the game it would be a little realistic. My corners & safeties have made interceptions but they've dropped a fair share as well. I don't know, it seems realistic to me. I'm using the Giants.

^Yeah thats the thing I've had those deflections flown up in the air as well as just really poor throws thrown up there and yet my players(the AI) can't seem to pick off anything. Also, it's hard to force a fumble, I pretty much have to do it myself.

I have a question in franchise mode. I scout players before and during the season. But when I get to the draft the players that I did scout earlier are not listed under scouted at the draft? Am I missing a step?

I lead the lead in INT's through week 10 in a non-online franchise with the Bears. None of them have been been user either as I find user d just makes me lose a step. I've returned 3 INT's for TD's with Tillman and Hester has returned 2 kickoffs for TD's. I'm having a hell of a time getting any sort of run game going though. I can pass it all over the place but running has been a real big challenge. I play on All-Pro but this year you can alter the computer's skill manually rather than just have All-Pro make the computer way better which I haven't tampered with at all yet. Also, the default settings that i started with had me having zero penalties through the first 4 weeks so I had to bump those up a tad as it's unrealsistic to have zero penalties from game to game. Greg Olsen leads the league in receptions, yards, and TD's as well :P

When you play Madden online (360) can you talk to your opponent like you can in other games?

I just played my first full game. I (as the Bears) beat Detroit 147 to 17. I will admit I was playing on the easiest difficulty level, but I still thought it was great fun. I would like to be able to start a franchise and play on a more difficult level, but I have one main problem - I can't recognize and respond to the opposition. I know how American football works, and the general idea of the different sort of plays, but I can't see what the other team does and adjust my calls accordingly because I can't recognize what play they are going to do based on how they line up. I pretty much just guess whether they're going to run or pass.

What's the deal with franchise mode anyway? I started a Bears franchise and half way through the first game, Cutler throws a touchdown pass to Plaxico Burress, and I'm like "who the f*ck added him to the roster?" so I figure there must be some way to stop the game from doing that. Anyone want to tell me why and how?

I like you a lot more than I used to.

Anyway, if you want defensive turnovers, you have to control the player in position to get the ball.

You have to edit your settings, I haven't bought Madden since the McNabb cover, but I think your problem is that you assigned your assistant coaches to handle the depth chart. You were short at receiver and they went ahead and signed the best available free agent.

is there a way to edit your depth charts for online play before you get into an online game with someone?
