Crabtree signs and Braylon is a Jet

Post#1 » by Icness » Wed Oct 7, 2009 3:17 pm

Crazy action overnight!
Michael Crabtree signs in SF, and Braylon Edwards gets dealt to the Jets for Chansi Stuckey, Jason Trusnik, and two draft picks.

Crabtree is an idiot. If the deal is what I hear it is, he took less than he would have gotten 5 months ago and the performance incentives for the voidable year are higher. I wonder how he'll fit with that team. I talked to two different Niners in the past week and neither guy wanted him and both held real animosity towards him--very different than what Minny felt with Favre.

Braylon had to go from Cleveland, it had to happen. The incident with Lebron's friend was the final straw. IMO the Jets are the absolute worst fit for him, because they need him to be great. Braylon can be great but he's only shown it when nothing mattered. Now he's under the microscope with a demanding coach and a tight locker room. I just don't see that working out well for him.

The Browns get Stuckey, who the Jets fans got all frothy over all summer and are now backtracking and saying he sucked. The picks are a 3rd and a 5th, and the 3rd goes to a 2nd if the Jets make the playoffs. The emergence of Massaquoi makes Edwards replaceable on the field, and Stuckey fits well as the slot wideout that the Browns wanted.

don't know what jets fans said he sucked but he's best as a slot WR and he couldnt do anything outside pretty much the most of the season.

I think this is an excellent fit just for the mere fact that Keller and Cotchery can't be double teamed and maybe there wont be 8 in the box every time we try and run. And the jets have good leaders and lots of Michigan guys on the team.

Braylon was never mentioned in any police reports or anything. If the Browns moved him because of Lebron, than the Browns are in a world of hurt. You don't make personal moves based on a guy who doesn't even play in your league. What a joke.

Crabtree should have take the 49ers deal awhile ago, but I don't understand why 49er players would get upset over something that doesn't involve them. They need to worry about themselves and leave roster worries to the GM and coaching staffs.

Crabtree is a moron that was/is listening to too many people in his circle.

Edwards?
IDK, I wanted him on the Eagles but gave up hope along time ago, then again, his nickname Banana Hands Braylon or Alligator Arms Edwards besiege him.

It seems that some Jet fans are hoping that this is our "Moss" trade. Edwards two years ago took the league by storm and we all know what happened after that. However how do you explain the fact he excels on Monday Night? I think this locker room is good for him because they will keep him in check. He is in the big city now, something I think he needed. Last but not least your not in Cleveland anymore, I think they all hate Mangini and most love Ryan. I think with this team it puts him in a position to excel, because he won't need to be THAT guy like they wanted in Cleveland.

I'm going to miss Stuckey, but Clowney/Wright can replace him in the slot.

Regarding Crabtree... speechless.

I wonder if the Crabtree decision will impact future draft picks who are thinking about holding out...maybe they'll give a pre-season signing a 2nd thought.

Seriously? This guy wants to be a celebrity so badly. If anyone will let the city swallow them, its Bray Bray.

I just can't see the team allowing that to happen, I really think Ryan welcomes this type of talk as long as you can back it up. Plus the Edwards vs Rhodes situation is going to be epic. I just think there is a correlation between his MNF dominance and the big show. In the NY he will be at the biggest stage thus far in his career. If it don't work out he is a RFA and some other team will go for him.
